5 REASONS FOR USING CGC FOR PRESSING COMICS

Note: The 5 Tips videos are intended to be quick hitting videos that provide viewers with five things to consider around a given topic. Given the format, I am not always able to provide a ton of context around every tip. To this end, there are longer videos on the channel which address some of the very same topics in long form. Enjoy.

Good points! I'll offer a counterpoint, though: TIME!

Another tip is if there are already CGC witnessed signatures on the book and you believe you can get a grade bump or if you get additional signatures.

Great rationale and logic! At a glance, these things seem like common sense, but the experiential wisdom you apply to the subject, bring to light a few deeper details and aspects of the process that one may have not considered. I will never understand the dislikes on your videos, this is solid content

This is super helpful Regie. I think there’s definitely some positives. One of the problems that I have heard (and this has been more recent) is that the wait times for sending it to CCS and then taken over to CGC is extremely long. I’m planning on sending my first shipment over so I’m trying to gather as much info as I can before I make my decision how I do it. Appreciate the info!

Wait times are unacceptable at this point. I'm still waiting on books from early October and no glimps of a finish line.... I think a back log is due to too many useless/worthless variants clogging up the system... I feel like they should have separate locations only for moderns! Thanks Regie!

I've gotten some feedbacks from others on youtube stating CGC might not spend as much time to press & clean a book as independent 3rd party pressers would. In other word, CGC would rush their pressing and would do a half done job due to the large amount of books they'd receive. Can you please confirm if that's a true statement?

Last year I sent in my hulk 181, which was slabbed at a CGC 5.5 for pressing as the book looked like it had some obvious pressable defects. It came back a 7.0 which is quite a nice bump for that book!

First 4 points are why I let CCS press one of mine. When I got it back, 5 months later, I had a slabbed comic with obvious pressable defects.

Some thoughtful reasons shared here, as always. I actually use a third party presser, but it is because of all the same reasons you shared (local/cuts out shipping, very experienced, professional, etc.). I do know that not all third party pressers meet those standards though. Always good to educate the community on trustworthy options, appreciate the knowledge, Regie!

Very good points. The only problem I've had with CCS/CGC is the turnaround time. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

Thanks for the info. I've got an ASM #50 that needs a pressing and I also want to get it graded. You may have given me the advise I was looking for and I thank you.

I might want to get a comic pressed but they take too long. I don’t like parting with my stuff for that long. (8 months to a year is ridiculous) Especially at my age! If they make the service faster then I’d use it.

Excellent video and definitely things to consider. When using CCS for the first time using the standard tier, they held my books in the queue for the unholy turn time, but I was happy for the grades: one 7.5, three 7's, two 6.5's, a 5.5. two 4.5's and a 4. Not bad for books dating from 1965-1971. 6 of the books exceeded my expected grade, one was a match and 3 were lower. I reckon that's not bad for my first time.

Great Info Video Regie I remember I was unboxing some comics & the Wife walked in unexpectedly & I had to quickly hid the the book by slipping it under my Seat Cushing's & giving it a quick Pressing.....but Seriously you have helped me with going ahead & using both services on one of my "Spidey's" Ron
