5 Questions To Ask Yourself Before Starting Your Cargo Trailer Conversion!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We built our cargo trailer conversion over 3 years ago, have traveled over 30,000 miles with it (so far) and have loved every minute of it. It has allowed us to live simply on the road, see amazing and unique places, and camp for free all over the western US (on public lands). We've been asked by many people why we decided to build out our own little tiny home on wheels, so we wanted to provide everyone with a little bit of information. Before you get started on your own here are 5 questions to ask yourself before starting your cargo trailer conversion!
While our 6x10 cargo trailer may be a little small for some, it has worked out perfectly for us. We started with a lot more stuff than we actually needed, but you'll need to work through that yourself as you go along. You'll probably feel the need to pack a lot of clothes (our first trip out was 4 months on the road), but you'll soon find that a weekly trip to a laundromat in the area allows you to keep a minimum amount on hand. After all, you'll probably buy a t-shirt or two from one of the state or national parks you'll visit!
Even if you don't have experience with electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, don't let that stop you from doing your own cargo trailer build. Cornbread was completely out of his element when he got started but soon figured it out after watching hours and hours of KZread videos. You'll learn what you need to as you go along, so take your time and enjoy the journey!
We're working on a guide to help anyone who would like to learn more about our process and we really think it will help you eliminate mistakes and make sure you've thought through the entire process to help keep your construction costs down. You're going to find out that you're more capable than you thought, so get ready for what's ahead - it's going to be great!
