    Like the idea. We have a 16-foot trailer we used as vendors. We work from inside the trailer with a ramp gate. Any ideas to contain the cool while using the portable ac?

    During the 2020 virus thing, we used visqueen with velcro strips to make a vapor barrier to separate areas in the nursing home where I worked. I'm not saying it would be efficient, but it could help to make an easy/inexpensive "wall" to keep it a little cooler. Here's a link to an amazon item that might paint a better picture for you:tinyurl.com/4w9ptd4y - hope it helps!

    My experience with a single hose portable AC was not good in very hot conditions. While blowing out hot air it creates a vacuum pulling in hot air from outside anywhere it can get in. However it does have its place. If it’s not extremely hot outside but hot in the trailer I place it at the door way with the door open and it makes the trailer comfortable. Doing it this way pulls the outside air right into the back of the unit while blowing cold air to the back of the trailer. I plan on changing to a window unit in the future. Happy camping and stay safe out there 🏕️

    We found that it worked much better when the humidity wasn't an issue. When we used it in Colorado it worked very well, getting down to our desired temp pretty quickly. In Louisiana, it struggled. We don't camp in the south in the summer, so hopefully it will keep working for us where we need it! Thanks for stopping by!

    Just purchased this generator, last night with a full tank it ran out of fuel after 3 hours. I had it plugged into my Toyota coaster and that runs the 12v/240v fridge (Dometic) and I turned on a fan heater. How do I get better fuel consumption? Thanks in advance

  • @CupcakeandCornbread
    @CupcakeandCornbreadАй бұрын

    Thanks for sharing! It all depends on what you're pulling from the generator. I don't know what the draw is from your fridge or your fan heater - you'll need to determine the power requirements there. We use ours with a 6x10 cargo trailer, primarily in the winter, to power an electric blanket. We can run it about 10-12 hours with just that. We also use it to recharge our Jackery or Bluetti - that's our primary source of power when camping. It wouldn't power our portable AC unit, so we purchased a larger invertor generator for the summer.

    Hi I was just wondering about the black bracket that you used, was that purchased at home Depot as well?

  • @CupcakeandCornbread

    I'm sure it was purchased at Lowes or Home Depot, just can't remember which one. Pretty sure it was in the lumber section!

    My girlfriend and I are doing CTC and live in Louisiana. I understand the challenges of staying cool in this heat. We have a 6x12 with a window unit and while I dont plan on camping when its over 90, the window unit can keep it at about 75 when it is 90 outside. Our trailer is only insulated in the ceiling.

    Lots of possibilities - low compression, bad carburetor, fuel line issue, bad fuel, etc. Best bet (if you're mechanically inclined) is to go through the manual or the manufacturer's website and see what you can figure out (if it's not under warranty). If it's under warranty, follow the directions provided by the store where it was purchased (to bring it in or return to the manufacturer). Hope that helps!

    Hey Todd! Not sure you remember me. My Dad is Roy Taylor. I recently got a 7x7x14 rear ramp trailer. I’m converting to a basic camper by myself. We were raised camping so I wanted to build my own custom rig. I call it Da Camp! Kim Nevils showed me your channel! I’m really enjoying you & your wife’s videos!!!

    Of course I remember you! Good luck with your build - we kept ours pretty basic, though it does have a full sized bed, shower, ac and lots of storage, but that's what I like about cargo trailers - lots of options! Oh, thanks Kim!!

    If I convert the cargo trailer ill be getting, ill most likely insulate it a lot, since i'm someone that likes my "home" being a good temp all the time. Most likely will be using a 12kBTU house mini split though, but now i know I can use one of my step dads portable ones he has in storage until I can get it installed. (Edit: I will be traveling all over the place in the US, & Canada, so ill need alot of insulation, in roof, floor, & walls, since when its cold outside & im in alaska, its going to suck otherwise.)
