I always assumed it was a Irish knot bracelet. My grandpa used to make us these for different holidays…Good Ol’Papa keeping those traditions. 💚

I love that! Another name to add to the list, so cool how everyone has their own names and traditions for it.
Does taking off a sailor knot after it’s original shrinkage damage the bracelet ? & can it be taking off while dry ? Thanks 😊

You can take it off if you can get if off, it won't hurt it any. If it is too tight, you should be able to stretch it enough when it is wet to get it off.

@@MysticKnotwork thanks so much for the information, I really appreciate it.
What kind and size cord do you use. I make them as a fund raiser for the Lake Erie extention canal museum in my town in Pennsylvania. I have never found what i think is the correct cord. Thank you! I love your videos!😊

Thank you! We have our cord custom made for us and we use a #48 or #60 cotton cord. I think if you were looking by size, it would be about 4 mm.

@@MysticKnotwork thank you for your help! You are all amazing!😊
Love all the questions you’ve answered. I want to know what the weight, gauge, mm, size of the rope that you use at mystic Knotworks? I’m going to begin with some paracord, but I like the look of cotton. Thank you!! Cindy from the Great Lakes.

Hi Cindy, thank you so much! The cord we use is called a #60 hard laid cotton cord. I would guess it is about 4 mm if you are measuring it that way. Tying a turks head works best with a stiffer cord, so paracord also works great.
I was wondering how easily they can be taken off after they shrink? Will I need to just cut it or will it stretch enough when wet?

It depends on how much it shrinks. Ususally when it is wet, you can tug on it enough to stretch it back out slightly to get it off. If that doesn't work, you may have to cut it off.
How do you make those wide bracelets that you sell? I can't find instructions anywhere. Also, do you sell the rope itself? I want to make my own wider bracelet, but want to chose the colors, not just get the kits.

Hi Jay, we don't sell the rope outside of the kits, but you can try R&W rope in New Bedford for some cotton cord. We don't have directions for the wide bracelets because they need a jig and are quite a bit more complicated. I'm so sorry I couldn't help you!
Do you know that you can make an adjustable bracelet that you can take off ?.

We do make an adjustable bracelet that is braided and not a turks head knot.
