Macrame is like an alphabet, once you learn the letters, you can start writing beautiful stories.
Here is how to make a macrame owl with multiple colors. Adding the cords in this order will make an owl with the edges in a different color from the body. I also like to use a third color for the top of the owl and the bottom gathering knot (whip) so my owls have three colors.
You will need:
1 - 42 inch cord - this is the top cord you attach all the other cords to
6 - 5 foot cords - this will me the main body color
2 - 7 foot cords - this will be the edge color
1 - 20 inch cord - this is for the gathering knot
2 beads for the eyes
1 stick about 4-5 inches long
This owl is easy to make if you know your basic macrame knots. You need to tie the knots in a certain order to make the pattern.
