I can be truthful. Mines about communication. I love her but communication and shutting me out, not wanting to fall back on me. As a partner. We did counciling 3 years beforehand, and they thought we did well, but when she walked out, she made the comment that she had all the issues. So, she never addressed these issues. Now she wants out but still wants to live me snd the kids

Yes. An emotional affair. Often it becomes a physical affair with time.

@Jess that's still an emotional romantic affair where you're taking the intimacy that should be directed at your partner if you're monogamous and you're giving it to someone else. It still betrays them, still breaks their trust, still cheats them out of an honest relationship, still makes them feel like they aren't enough, still takes your focus away from them, still will be so hard for them to get over. I say this without judgement, just trying to answer your question.

I realize this is general. But what about if you're dealing with a sex addict who made their own choices? In that case, the partner was unaware of their secret behavior. It's not a marriage problem.
