  • @shadows-xn3ed

nihilism is the curse of a person smart enough to realize life has no meaning, it’s just a never ending cycle of life and death with decay as the force to wipe the slate clean. But that person is to stupid to realize that they got them selves all worked up over something they wouldn’t listen to even if it did exist. Most people don’t fallow there parents, friends, society’s meaning for life. What would change if your life came with a meaning? Your the author of your life and entropy/decay has given you a clean stack of paper, stop worrying about what color the pencil is and write something.

I think the Joker’s death in Arkham City was the most impactful. Not just because it was the Joker’s fault and he still got the last laugh if you count Arkham Knight, but because Batman did think it through and give a good point to Joker’s madness, “Every decision you’ve ever made ends with death and misery, people die, I stop you, and you just break out and do it again. “ Plus Batman still has a great line to boot that one “Even after everything you’ve done, I would have saved you.” RIP Kevin Conroy, the true Batman

I mean the last kill was also logical. Either save the Flash (a hero who saved countless lives and will continue to do so even if it means to sacrifice himself) or save Johnny Quick (a villain who has very likely killed many innocent and/or good people, and has helped in restricting freedom of an Earth's population, and has committed other crimes as well). Obviously save the Flash. However Batman gave Johnny an opportunity to redeem himself and sacrifice his life to save all the life in all multiverses.

    5. Ra's Al Ghul - Not counting it because it's up to the player what Batman does. You can choose not to let him die, (also he's not killing him he's just letting a man far past his due date die of natural causes). 4. Dracula - I mean, technically he did kill him but Dracula is kind of already dead so... Between that and the fact that he got resurrected I don't know if I would personally count it but I guess technically it was a kill. 3. Devil Ray - That wasn't Batman at all. You said it yourself. It was a ghost possesing him and even then the intention wasn't homicidal. 2. Owlman - Batman gave him the option to save himself. I'd say it was more suicide than murder. 1. Johnny Quick - Ok yeah, he didn't really have a choice but he killed him. Even if most of these weren't really kills, good job putting this together.

And not only that, Batman let Owlman with the teleporter gun so he can escape from that world too before it’s too late. But at the end Owlman say “It doesn’t matter” and died by his own choice. Batman didn't purposely make it so he'd age, it just happens that's how mafia works. You can just say he died of old age due to being fooled by a Cicero minded jester *skyrim reference wink wink*

He also killed in issue #1 of *“Batman”* (1940). He killed a bunch in *“Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder”* (2005), ect. The character doesn’t have a single definitive continuity and each different version is exactly that; a different version. He can behave differently in each different take because in each different take the circumstances in his life are different as is his mental state.

Sorry, going to have to call out a logical inconsistency here: If Batman is said to have killed Ras Al Ghul because he could have easily saved him, but chose not to, then by that same line of logic, Owlman killed himself, because he could have easily saved himself, but chose not to. So take your pick, one of those can't be counted.

literally none of these are murders.... and owl man actually commit suicide by not simply turning off the bomb when he was COMPLETELY capable. It is also very likely batman assumed something terrible would have happened to Quick, but of course he really had no way of knowing. Negligence at best :/

11:10 nope, his actions did not lead to anything. Batman straight up told him it was dangerous and Johnny quick volunteered and said OF COURSE ITS DANGEROUS. That's by definition Johnny Quicks doing. So this one doesn't count. Also it's not his fault they have to travel dimensions or whatever.

In my opinion, Batman letting Ras die was an act of mercy. I just can't believe anyone who can live as long as him can hold the same respect for mortals without losing some amount of self respect or humanity at the same time. Despite whether or not you decide to let him die in Arkham Knight, Ras always responds "proud of you, detective." At GCPD. I think that proves his indifference to his cause and even more his personal indifference but strong will to follow the cause at stake, since he truly believed it was right. On one end he embraces his so called "destiny" but also embraces Batman's honorable decision to end his seemingly endless reign of terror. Thanks to Batman's emotional ambiguity however, it's hard to tell exactly what he (Batman) really thought about (technically) ending his life. Which isn't really the point of the ideal, but challenges batman's moral code either way, as many other villains have but not even CLOSE to Ras... Batmans mentor/teacher AND immortal enemy...

Ra's's "terminal illness" was mortality. Killing is when you end someone's life prematurely. Ra's's life had been extended far beyond its natural end. Still not killing. Dracula doesn't count because he's not human. Deadman possessing Batman doesn't count because it was Deadman doing it, not Batman. Owlman had the option to press abort on the bomb. He chose to let himself die because "it doesn't matter." Johnny Quick doesn't count because Batman didn't kill him. He knew that one Speedster would have to sacrifice himself to get it to work, and he simply veto'd the first Speedster to volunteer.

Owlman was given the chance to save himself by aborting the bomb's destruction but he didn't that one seems more like suicide than murder. Ra's Al Ghul, like the person said you could have saved him. It was up to the player not Batman the character. Dracula is supernatural and was undead and was never truly human. Plus you can't imprison him so what do you do? Johnny Quick made a choice to do it and plus he could have told them but that would only waste time. It was more like sacrifice than murder.
