My dad has just recently left my siblings and our mom. He was a musician and would practice Guitar all the time, and it would eco through our house. I loved it. Now our house is quiet. So I listen to this and pretend it’s him sitting in his office, peacefully strumming his guitar. Update: I dont know if anyone will see this. But i wanted to leave an update for all you lovely people who have wished me and my family the best. Its has been four years since my father has left. It was hard, our relationship was very rocky but I am happy to say that we have reconnected. And he will be playing at my wedding in April. Blessing can be found in the darkest times. And i wanted to thank all of you who took the time to leave your love.

My father passed a few years back. At the time, it didn't hurt as much, maybe I ignored the pain or maybe I was trying to be a tough and edgy teenager. But I look back on it and even though there was a lot of rough, there are things I miss about him, especially when he would play his Guitar. Its been with me for the last few years gathering dust, but I've made the decision to learn it. For the memories.

I love it when i’m sitting comfortably with my guitar on my thigh, eyes closed and just playing random stuff on my guitar. I usually let my hands carry me away through some world full of music. Sometimes i recognise a part of another song and sometimes it just doesn’t fit. Somehow at those moments i feel the most relaxed in my whole day. The sounds are somehow blurred but so clear to my ears. I love it.

I totally see where you’re coming from. But for me I feel like I’m giving up on singing. I have been so passionate about it but I just can’t seem to be happy with my voice. I’ve always had a weird relationship with my voice. Sometimes I Like it and sometimes I can’t stop hating it. But with guitar, I don’t say I’m bad it it. I say I’m excited to improve. I don’t want to give up though.

Yeah I told another guitarist at my work who sings that I can't sing for shit. He said "anybody can sing, you just gotta find your pitch". Idk I don't think i'll ever have a great voice but what i've been able to do, is match the tone of the guitar. Try humming or singing without words at first and just match the notes with the guitar..you'll hear when it goes together and you'll know that sounds good just by the mere fact it harmonizing with the guitar

Here are some of what I believe to be the most beautiful songs in the world! Which songs would you choose? And before you comment, yes I know Where is my Mind is written by Pixies. But it's Maxence Cyrin's version that my arrangement is based on as that is particularly beautiful. The same with regards to Mad World which is written by Tears for Fears, but it's Gary Jules' version which I consider to be the most beautiful version of the song.

Listening to you play is inspiring me to pick it back up again towards fingerstyle... Pieces like this are a major reason I got into playing to begin with... In all of the compositions I've played or listened to over the years, it is the beauty of what speaks to the soul and moves it to that grateful stillness within is what makes it all worth it... To capture a moment timelessly as we cast across the universe for this moment in time... To realize the beauty of existence in the feeling of all that is good... Keep the fire alive. Beautiful playing :) It's time to get back to the roots...

Always loved ‘where is my mind’, that guitar hit and theme throughout…I didn’t realise the subtle complexity behind it at all and am amazed. Thanks.

OK, so you found my comment. Hear me out for a minute would ya? That first song, I created it. Now I don't mean I made the actual song verbatim and all(props to the actual creator of the song "to build a home") the chords and notes and so forth, but here is my story. Peep this and hear my tale. Struggled with my own thoughts as a youth growing up, just as many other people have and will. I took it upon myself to express what I could not say through music. I was and am still not good enough to perform but for me it helps get out what I feel I can't say. In my darkest days I made a chord progression by myself that I have carried and worked on for years and it's my "go to" every time I pick up a guitar. I always knew I could make a so g out of it but I lacked the skill to make it any better than the basic progression that I had, yet I always knew there was something there. I thought it was all mine and it was my personal thing I was proud of. Then one day-a few weeks ago-I randomly find this video and hear that damn first song. It took my basic chord progression and turned it into a beautiful song. Now I feel I may never be able to be able to express myself as much as I want to, not even through music. I feel lost, inspired, robbed, connected, and hopelessly driven at the same time. I may never be as good as I want to be, but I know someone out there is thinking the same way as me. So I choose to keep moving on and maybe one day I'll look back and say, thank you.

One chord progression can apply to many songs. This song isn't the only way to express it - with effort, it could be made into a rendition that is unique to you.

When someone writes a book and later realise those same words and similar story was already written, then this doesn't make the book worse. Same with feelings and music. It is different just because you made it and i think it only is important that you came up with something cool.

Diogenes Laertius the very word inspire means “in spirit”, so it makes sense when we are connected to source that there may be many souls flowing on that same wavelength. How amazing is that? It comes down to those who share that inspiration, who either inspire others or show them that they were on the right track. You, my friend, were on the right track. Please continue expressing yourself through your music, but most importantly, sharing it with others. You never know who you, in turn, inspire and/or cause to act and share their gifts as well. That’s what we’re here for. Many blessings to you ✨💖✨

absolutely beautiful. It's actually really funny, but I started playing instruments YEARS ago, something I grew up with of sorts. This takes me way back to my early years as a young musician between bars, talent shows, and cafe's :)
