Understanding the stability of a standing desk can be a difficult task. The biggest reason for this is because stability is one of the most subjective things about standing desks.

    "subjectively measure" means arbitrary. Did you mean objectively?

  • @jamesorr214

    @jamesorr214

    4 жыл бұрын

    Correct. Subjective is from the subjects point of view, ie the person. An opinion is subjective as it can change from person to person (and still be correct - it's just an opinion). Objective is from the objects point of view, ie the table or some other object. A measurement of an object (for the most part) is not open to opinion. So an object (table or whatever) that measures 32" can be measured by multiple subjects (people) and they will all measure it at 32", that won't vary apart from error on the subject persons part. BTW, I do appreciate this video regardless of that error. Great to have an objective measurement to help form a subjective opinion on which table to buy. :-)

  • @PseudoChris

    He may have meant to say objectively. But then again, if it's not an agreed-upon or widely adopted method of measuring stability, then it could still be considered subjective, albiet with an element of measurement.

    I had a question, when looking at the wobble meter, are the individual numbers supposed to be used by themselves (i.e. @ 30” was a 3 for the new heights XT) or is it better to use the total number (30” @ 3 + 42” @ 6 + 46” @ 9 = 18 to be used)?

  • @btodtv

    @btodtv

    Good idea but i can't trust it if i don't see the footage of you rocking it. Also the problem with using an objective test like this is that you are not standardizing the input (ie. how much you actually push on the desk). for this reason your tests and video need work

    So you managed to introduce your mysterious "wobblemeter", describe in great detail the ranges for the scores, complete with graphics, and yet in a 5 minute video, not show us one actual test. You even had all the desks assembled in the studio, and even had pictures (still pictures) of the elusive wobblemeter allegedly in action. But no. video. of. the. tests. That's an awful lot of effort for very little actual content. Makes me think this wobble worry is much ado about nothing.
