I'm currently making weather forecasts for India with limited data, and it's been quite challenging, especially considering it's crucial for my work in the Air Force. It's astonishing how frequent thunderstorms occur there. Despite the difficulties, I've developed a deep appreciation for studying weather during this demanding course. It has been a tremendous learning experience

I’m from CT and we had huge rain storms 10 years ago. Their is a lake an a dam. The dam was raging with water washing out everything below including houses and rushing along the side of the road. I sobbed when we pulled into a gas station at higher ground because I felt so terrified for the people who’s homes were in the flood. My abusive ex was annoyed at me crying over it. He was quite heartless.

I hope that clinic wasn't too damaged in the first clip. I'm glad we didn't see video of the family celebrating and being swept away by the flash flood. Very sad they didn't listen to the warnings. The clip with the flood coming down the street was terrifying. The guy in the black SUV looked like he had enough room to abandon his vehicle and get to the sidewalk area. But the guy car surfing had to be petrified. I'm so glad to hear he was rescued. I thought I saw other people being swept in the water too. When that white box truck is shown it appears someone is behind it coming down the street. But it could have been other debris.

The preceding debris fields can be more lethal than the water itself. Those caught by the debris fields can be forced beneath the onslaught, ripped apart by jagged, fast moving debris or crushed as it compacts around them. Debris fields may also provide survivors something to climb onto, keeping them out of the water. Few things are more powerful and potentially lethal than fast flowing bodies of floodwaters in residential areas.

How to save yourself in a flood: Stay out of flooded buildings. Avoid wading in or driving through water. Floodwater can contain sewage and conceal dangers, including debris, open manholes, and downed power lines. Did you know? Two feet [0.6 m] of moving water can carry a car away. Most deaths in a flood result when people try to drive through moving water.

I lived in Arizona for almost 20 years. First in Flagstaff at the base of Mount Eldon and then later in Phoenix around 35th ave and Bell rd. Every year, during the spring, summer and sometimes fall, there would be warnings issued of flash flooding. And every year, there would be idiots ignoring the warnings. Not only that, but a lot of them had no business being in the areas they were in - like setting camp in or around a dry river bed, at the base of the mountains, out driving around during a storm. Just before I left Arizona, it had gotten so bad, that police were finally issuing tickets and charging motorists, campers, hikers for their rescue. It was insane the amount of stupidity these people showed.

Something like this happened to me in, believe it or not, Philadelphia. I was on Belfield Ave. Near Broad. The sky opened up with a deluge I had never seen before at that time. It was 1968 or so about 9:30 PM. I could not go forward as that was down hill somewhat and I did not want go any lower where the water was pooling at Broad St. I could not back up that's where most of the water was coming from. I drove out to the double yellow line of the crowned road and straddled the line. Water was rushing by at the curb about 2 1/2 feet deep on each side. Out where I was water was up to but did not top the rocker panels of my 1963 Cadillac Convertible. It only lasted about 8 to 10 minutes, but there was a lake at Broad and Belfield. I turned around and went back to first street that went up towards higher ground. I forget the name of that Street but that street was steep and where the rain water "earlier" was rushing down to Belfield. Point? You don't need to be in Arizona, New Mexico or near a river for a flash flood to do you or your car in, I was lucky.

That is correct. You just need to be in a place with poor flood control. I'm from Pittsbrugh. The downtown has no drainage where I live flash floods all the time. I got caught in them twice. Had to have police and firefighters get rafts on ropes to get me out of my car. One time I had to go on the roof of my car. People don't realize how fast these floods happen. Or they think 2 feet of rushing water isn't a "big deal." I got caught while I was parked or stopped at a red light during a storm. I'm trapped watching people attempt to drive through the rushing water. SMH!

Then flooding in Arizona last year was really bad. 2 people lots their lives. One was a teenage girl who was driving home at night. They suspect that there was no water in the road and the water hit her like a tidal wave. There were places where the streets and neighborhoods were overwhelmed with water. One city was directly down stream from a burn scar and had sand bags 5 feet high too help keep them from getting washed away. The local news was out to report on it when everyone's phones started going off. When you pay attention to the flood warnings your chances of surviving are greatly increased if your pay heed.

Moisture came out of the Gulf of Mexico. That is caused by a RAPIDLY increasing Gulf of Mexico that is pushing more moisture into the atmphere. Worlds oceans absorb 90% of the worlds heat from the atmphere. That is 17x10 ^20 Jules heat energy or five thermal nuclear bombs per second! Its increasing year after year!

2 years ago, Belgium, Germany and north of France have been SWAPPED by the worse flooding for their history. In Belgium a barage gave away and entire villages had disappeared under water. All that remained was the roofs. Luckily most of people managed to escape, but deaths counted by the dozens and hundreds anyway. Footages were far more impressive than the last one.

  • @DanKoning777

That simply isn't true re: climate change. The claims from environmentalists that mankind is warming the environment has no *true* scientific support-it's all mere *scare tactics* and not based on *true* science, but *consensus science* and meant for profit. True science [via observation], denotes a direct correlation between sun spots and solar variation [which are visible and discernable]; this drives temperature change. FYI, there is zero *scientific* evidence that man's CO2 or carbon causes warming-none; in fact, based on true science, the opposite appears to be true. In layman’s terms: as the solar variation fluctuates it becomes hotter at certain times more than others-this then warms the oceans; as the oceans are warmed *they release more CO2* not mankind. This is an observable, visible, and discernable fact: i.e., *true science.* Simply stated it's not mankind, but the sun and the affect it has on the oceans that *releases more CO2* into the atmosphere. All *true/honest* science say's: man's contribution to CO2 is negligible. Water vapor and clouds make up almost all CO2, and our climates change-it's the effect of electromagnetic fields on the sun that increases CO2 from oceans and clouds. If this isn't true simply ask yourself: "If ocean levels *will keep rising* [as we're told], why did Obama just purchase a $11.75m *waterfront home* on 30 acres in Martha's Vineyard?" 🤔

Yes a great problem exists with house roans. In many places people build roads and infrastructure on dry river beds. Like easy roads to travel apon. I have found studying a map of the Australian continent rivers are in place. These Rivers an be dry for a long time in human time. They will become rivers roads of water moving to the low grounds . Giving life to creeks Filling the once dry lake Eyre to become a fertile bloom.
