    Damn, if the Ancient gives that much vision, we should be aiming to destroy it every game. I bet it'd sure make fountain diving a whole lot easier.

    If u dont have observer ward at mid and you happen to do the contesting LH where ure on the river and ur enemy is on their HG. You can always click on any enemy hero on the other lane to aggro the creeps, its a bit difficult and only worth doing on the first and second waves

    I've been using the last trick since forever. Another good use for it is with illusions. If you select the actual hero, and then they use manta or doppel or phantasam or whatever to create illusions, the hero will stay selected and you can then ping their hp bar to highlight them.

    It's also handy to see when they combine items at e.g. the secret shop. The components that combine into a new item will disappear from their inventory and they'll just have an empty slot in the inventory for the new item (since you haven't seen it yet), but you know what item it is from the components that disappeared.

    So the supposed advantage of the 1st trick is that, even after building your Arcane boots into Lotus Orb, you can still disassemble it back and potentially restore 675 mana for your team every 45 seconds, even less time if you have something with cooldown reduction. Given that the average pickup time from your research is 28 mins, this strat is super niche and totally isn't worth it for a few interwoven reasons. I. You gain 25% more mana from Lotus Orb's mana regen for yourself anyway in any given time frame. You could say that building back Arcane boots tops you (and your team) up with even more mana, which is more than enough to offset the reduced regen from breaking down Lotus back to Perseverance. But that depends on; A) how fast you can go thru the motions of disassembly & reassembly, B) keeping track of the cooldown, C) Inventory & Backpack availability, & D) if any teammate is near enough to benefit from it in the 1st place. II. Training your brain and APM for efficiency will diminish in returns the higher you go, and eventually you will hit a plateau. Time spent disassembling is a window of vulnerability you give to gankers, chasers, and position info if you're in sight of a ward. In a game that is inherently fast-paced and chaotic which only becomes more so the longer the game goes, keeping track of a 'ghost' item every 45 seconds or less is 1 more thing to clutter your mind queue & cause you to stumble. Unless you can disassemble & reassemble in 3 seconds flat, this strat gets riskier the longer a game gets. III. Inventory/Backpack space is another factor. Even after picking Lotus Orb up at 28 mins and into most 50min games, the average player will likely still have 1 free slot & 2 in the backpack, which is good for this strat. BUT while Boots & Lotus Orb only take up 2 slots each, their ingredient items take up 4 slots, and have item combining automatically locked. Time spent arranging your inventory is time not spent on map awareness and other more important things. For the same reason, players often keep Shovel in the backpack, but at least you CAN see its cooldown, and that's just a matter of swapping neutral items. IV. By 50mins, you will probably have another source of mana regen that makes Arcane Boots obsolete anyway, and boots would also built up into BoT or Greaves, which makes this strat redundantly fringe. Same goes for your team. Hell, you can just spend 50-225 gold on some consumables if you're that starved for mana. And considering the usual motions of late game affairs, you will either win the clash & recover mana while pushing, or die & wait for respawn which makes this strat moot. If you lose a clash but survive, you are either a safe distance away already, or being chased. If the enemy team has PL or AM, you will get kited and drained of mana if they manage to pin you down, which isn't hard. V. Most Timber players or heroes that do build Lotus orb will probably build Arcane again for Aether Lens, Soul Booster, or other items. Supports naturally build into Arcane, so it's better to leave that to them, or spend gold on consumables instead of standing there & making yourself vulnerable for +7 seconds. The only case with would be useful would be if you are out of mana and can lead the chase into the tree. Block the way with a Branch (another slot) to buy yourself time. If they have dagger or AM, you might still be able to juke them, but Storm, PL and other heroes can outright destroy trees. TLDR; it's tedious and not worth it, very niche cases aside. Save yourself the trouble & get a mango, clarity or Raindrops.

    well if u watch jenkins stream he dissassembles his lotus orb and uses arcane boots just on himself all the time. it takes him about 3 seconds or so to do it. so in that amount of time he would gain 12 mana and instead gets almost 200. Just because you arent good enough to disassemble and its too "tedious" for you doesnt mean its not useful. I didnt realize you were immortal lul

  • @PaszerDye

    @PaszerDye

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@saltiney8578 It's not 200, it's 135. Granted, he's not being super fast because it's a demonstration. If you actually time him as he disassembles, it actually takes him roughly 7 seconds, from Lotus into Arcane Boots & back, because items get auto-locked when disassembled which you spend more time to unlock each. You also obviously want to access Lotus Orb's active rather than have an Arcane Boots on cooldown. Say you practice, and can get it down 5 and a half. Keeping track of an invisible cooldown is another thing to add to the mental juggle of playing dota. This still isn't something you would do going into or in the middle of a clash. Instead of fiddling with your inventory, you're attention is better spent elsewhere on the actual fight where a lot can happen in 5 seconds alone. Better to be at the clash with 135 less mana, than spend 5 seconds being 'efficient' and potentially missing the moment you can it around, or miss it entirely, be outnumbered, then die. 195 gold for 3 mango/300 mana is much better investment than spending +15 seconds with this trick and potentially losing your window of opportunity. Even Raindrops + Sage mask, or either of those alone would be better. Given his findings, 28mins Lotus Orb in a game that runs for, let's say, 75mins. Say you can actually keep track and use your extra Arcane to get extra mana every 45 seconds. 5 seconds to change it from Lotus to Arcane & back. Of the 47 mins after getting Lotus, that adds up to 5 minutes spent just to get extra mana. Granted 8.3k mana is huge, but you just spent 10% of the time fiddling with your inventory to be 'efficient' instead of getting into position and helping your team. Also, I don't care about ranks, much less MMR. I know it's shocking, but there are other things to enjoy in the world. Unless you're a pro who actually makes a living by winning tournaments, or doing YT like Jenkins and others, MMR & rank mean nothing. It's just another fun game, and I like talking/discussing stuff on things I like. Don't be a MOBA rat, and conversate like a normal person who's life doesn't revolve around 1 thing.

    @@PaszerDye the only reason I bring up ranks is because your acting like disassembling and reassembling something is taking up a huge amount of bandwidth on a dota players mental juggle, which is true unless your very good at the game in which case you can easily be doing all these things constantly. As well as even a small advantage such as extra mana being a big deal at the higher ranks where everything is very punishing and basically not worth your time at a lower level dota. Anyways ur watching a video by an immortal player showing a trick I see him doing frequently in his matches and saying its basically a waste of his mental bandwidth, Go watch his stream or something the lad is checking like 15 things all the time its not that hard for him to quickly click his items a few times in the downtime and get some free mana. U dont "stop and fiddle with your inventory" you do it casually while walking from camp to camp or towards where u need to be or whenver there is downtime which there is a lot of the time. Also I can tell you dont watch any high level players because they are insanely quick at inventory management.
