★About Professor Herp★
I started getting into the reptile hobby in February of 2018. My first reptile was my Bearded Dragon - Maxine Pegasus (creator of duel monsters btw). Since then, I have added five Yellow Ackie Monitors (Asus, Dell, LG, and two unnamed babies), a Chacoan Black and White Tegu (Frappuccino), a Crested Gecko (Destin), and a Russian Tortoise (Tortellini). I also have a dog named Thrall (yes, from World of Warcraft) who is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix - aka a Chiweenie.
My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge, experience and journey with other reptile/animal enthusiasts and become a better caretaker because of it. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community through these videos.

The right amount of real plants and a good deep substrate are key to constant "high" humidty in my opinion. I have constant 75%-80% humidity in my crestie enclosure while spraying it down "only" about 2 times a week.

True plants do add a lot as well as substrate depth. Thanks for the insight!

What do you suggest would be good for a baby giant day gecko? As far as I know he hasn't eaten very much at all and trying to get the perfect environment for it I want to get him a 24x18x36 terrarium. Waterfall and other things that Madagascar has for the climate for this lil lizard 🦎

How deep did you go with the substrate and who did you go through for purchasing, if you don't mind me asking

@@user-vx3oh9zb9w the substrate has a depth from 10-15cm. And i have for 1.0 crested gecko the 36x36x18 exo terra. (And i used that enclosure since i had the gecko as a baby)

Nice! These all work really well with snakes too. Humid hides are my go to, they work so well and are so easy to provide.

Thankfully my ackie isn’t in their enclosure yet, but I wet down their next enclosure and it grew a layer of white mold over the top in a matter of days. I had to restart with fresh substrate. Any tips?

That should definitely help. Can be a lot though coming out so just make sure you don't overwhelm the cave haha
