I've never heard of conditioning with saddle soap. I use it to clean very dirty leather with some water and a brush so it gets nicely lathered up. My experience is that it's a great cleaner that dries the leather out a bit, not a conditioner at all. I always have to condition after using saddle soap. It leaves a film because you're supposed to use it with water and wipe it off, just like you wouldn't use soap as a hand lotion.

Thanks for the love Rose Anvil! Would love to send you our Water Protectant No. 3 formula as it was specifically formulated to protect leather against the elements/moisture/water/snow/etc. The beautiful thing about this protectant is that it is able to provide a high level of water repellency WITHOUT clogging up the pores of the leather. This allows the leather to continue to breathe, which is super important. As you likely know, all of our products are not only made from ALL-NATURAL, but cosmetic grade ingredients. Don't hesitate to reach out should you have questions at any time! Cheers.

Chamberlain's Leather Milk will this work with Napa leather??
Compare paste wax, neatsfoot oil, and dubbing. Being a soap, I have always used saddle soap with water to _wash_ the object.
I use mink oil for my walking boots and I often walk in very wet conditions. For the best reults you need to leave them for at least 12 hours after application.
Recently went to Argentina and your videos really helped me choose a lot of quality leather goods, since they produce a lot of leather for an affordable price!
Thank you for this video. It was a great way to see the results of these products to figure out which will suit your needs the best!
Your videos have helped my interest into finding myself a proper boot! New pair of Thursday will be here today!
I really like this video! It’s nice to see the performance of these without having to go out and buy all of them.
Thanks for the video I’ve heard a lot about all the conditioners you showed. I was leaning towards the chamberlains but after this video I’m sold. Thanks!
I bought my first pair of Nick's this year because of you and every piece of leather good I own is better off because of you!!!! Thank you
Thankyou for all the great content! Your videos are really informative and entertaining. And as someone who works in broadcast, I think your production values are great also!
Great video and very informative. I appreciate the comparison and use of multiple leathers. I have boots in every color you included and enjoyed seeing the effect of each conditioner.
Those are some really cool coasters! Thanks for posting this video. I'm going to try some of these products on my motorcycle saddlebags.

Great job on the comparison. I have been using Sno seal for years , it works great .
I use sno-seal on all of my leathers, wallet, leather iPhone case, boots and work gloves. It works great to block out the water and softens the leather well.
I always like seeing how different products work. I am truly stuck on Obenauf's myself. I also use a Swiss fix wax for things like old leather bags and boots on top of the Obenauf's. Thanks for testing!
I never thought I'd care about leather this much, lol. Officially enjoyed a good hour of your videos! Stoked for more!
Also you're videos have helped me so much on deciding which boots I'm getting and what I'm going to look for for my husband
Ive been using Blackstone conditioner recently & really like it. Thank you for all the helpful tips. Those coasters would look great on the end tables i built!
Good comparison. When cleaning my saddle and horse gear saddle soap works into the leather best when the applicator is quite damp. The moisture on the applicator allows the saddle soap to lather up which allows best cleaning and penetration.
I came across your channel and found an excellent amount of information on boots which are so popular today. I invited my granddaughter and son to watch we are all hooked on your programming...you never disappoint..keep it going.
Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your videos!! Your honest opinion is priceless & I truly appreciate your vast knowledge of leathers. Your videos are AWESOME!! Than you so much!!! 🙏😁🤩🤩🤩👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much for the video! Like the coasters, looks so beautiful!
Thanks for doing a great comparison video with the different products : ).

Great video! Love the idea of a leather coaster!
Been looking for a new leather conditioner. Thanks for the vid!
Love your videos. You are obvioisly a gifted leather worker. However, these are fair criticisms. And it's nice to see a few mistakes sometimes. Reminds us KZreadrs don't always have a team of writers. But yes sir, there are a few things to note. The saddle soap as many others have pointed out. It's purely a cleaner. It is important to apply with a wet applicator only after rubbing the applicator on the soap cake until it begins to froth. Then either wipe off immediately, or lit it dry then brush off. The discoloration you noted with the saddle soap is a result of it drying out the leather beneath. That's when you would reach for the other items you have in this video. As far as the conditioners you have in your video, they each have their strengths for specific use cases. The mink oil is an excellent choice for restoring older leather pieces. It also contains natural water resistant properties. Not as strong as the Aussie, but certainly better than the other items. I say that, but the leather conditioner has the potential to give the mink oil a run for it's money. Depending on the type. Fiebings leather balm has atom wax mixed in with it. This serves as a wax coating when buffed in. The Aussie is great for purses or handbags that are exposed to the elements due to it's higher water resistance. This is owed to it's petroleum base with need wax additive. All great products depending on what you need to use it on. Just taking the chance to return the favor for all of the knowledge you've shared to everyone that has watched your excellent videos!

Very informative! Nice coasters !:)
Very helpful and informative. We have always used Saddle Soap for our horse tack but I want to look into a couple of your suggestions. Thanks
Good video, your one of my go to sources for leather consumer products, cheers.
The Best? The best I've used is Obenauf's, they have a wax and a oil. They do darken the leather quite a bit, but if you're worried about work boots that aren't meant to be pretty, Obenauf's is fantastic. I've brought weathered and sundried saddlebags back from the dead with that stuff, really impressive.
Great video! Really well done. I have a few leather chairs at home and need to condition them as they are looking a little dry. I use mink oil for my boots also and have received some negative comments in the past, but haters gonna hate my friend. Thanks again, wishing you much more success on this channel!!!
Excellent information, very informative and a great help for conditioning your items made of leather, Thank you.
Thanks a lot. you helped me to decide what to buy: will go with the Chamberlain leather milk!
The only channel i trust with leather infos. Please make videos about handbags and their leather.
There's nothing quite like having a quality top grain leather product like wallets, jackets, bags or boots run down over decades of wear,...then applying Chamberlain's to clean and protect them. It's like noticing an old friend with a new haircut. You're like "Wait a second,..you're amazing. I'd forgotten."

Rose Anvil Sad Canadian 😭 but totally reasonable haha
I always used plain old mink oil, but I got a jacket I wanted to soften up, and I found a product by Obenauf"s. It has some additional additives to deter mold and mildew and bacteria. I've used it on three pr of boots, and applied it like twice in a few days, and that was all I did, seems to work well. Ingredients are not disclosed so there is some secret formula that they protect.
I can’t remember how I came across your channel. I usually watch anime and rap stuff, but I don’t regret anything. I’m learning so much!
