They also usually seek artificial validation usually online whether it be TikTok, IG, facebook, Twitter, etc. they blame anyone and anything but themselves for not holding up their end of the bargain. And I’m talking about a 43 year old single mom, not some 20 year old lady with not much emotional baggage. 4:40 that’s so relatable. She claimed she’d contact me asap and I was genuinely concerned because her ex is apparently abusive but instead she got passive aggressive with me and tried to turn the tables on me. After that night (along with other bad nights), I gave up on her. I’m not dishing one penny to anyone not deserving. She used to be sweet and grateful and then she said preposterous stuff like “you can’t buy me” or something blah blah. I never thought I would, SHES the one who was dependent on me for a while but never mentions it at all.

Coverts communicate by SIGNALING. My father is a dark creepy covert and says very very little at all! But the entitlement, superiority, conceit, aloofness and judgement drip off him like mucus off an alien. Sighs, facial expressions and body language cues are highly developed as manipulation tools in the coverts tool box.

Oh lordie we're in narcy season again..this time of year. Always have to be on top of everyone. Always gotta be the loudest and the last sound at night and the first noise in the morning, or compete with you if you're the one just ever so slightly getting the attention. ALLLL the attention gotta be to them! Focused on them. Any form of attention they will manipulate out of you even to get you upset ... "then they win!" Get me out of holiday season so they can go back and annoy others where they work. 😅

Perfect analogies there. N.P.D is definitely a real thing but the covert variety is the hardest to deal with and spot. There is no fix or save for these types of people. If you happen to find yourself dealing with one make an exit strategy. If ya gotta “cut ya losses” then you should do it earlier than later. The longer you stay around that the more it will cost you in the end. Not just financially but mentally as well and this in turn effects your physical. Run now and run as fast as you can. Don’t look back-no contact at all. In the meantime if you want to annoy them just say “no” or “I don’t feel like it” and watch them short circuit lol 😂

They also are masters of plausible deniability, they weren't giving you the silent treatment, their phone was just off (even though they normally text you nonstop from morning to night) or they just fell asleep (at 6pm or some other time you've never known them to sleep). I have a friend in a narcissistic relationship right now and it's like she's been brainwashed to never even consider that her partner could be the problem and always assume the best intent. The partner has convinced her that all this questioning her reality, low self esteem and depression is from her "toxic workplace."

Not only did I fall in love with her.... unfortunately I worked with her too, in a factory nonetheless. Three months into our relationship I caught her in a blatant lie. It was a very subtle lie. She immediately got mad when I told her she was being deceptive. She went into rage mode and then gaslighting mode. It was horrible. I regretted even calling her out anymore. Well after that I was anxious asking her anything because she would deny everything and get mad I would even think that of her....even tho she knew I knew she was lying to me. I loved that woman until I just couldn't anymore. Now as it turns out Im the "villain" because my M.H couldn't do it anymore. Its a lose-lose situation...but at the end of the day I had to make a selfish decision. I would rather be the "villain " at peace...than the hero with a broken heart.

I just lost my Father and I was driving with my two boys and my ex Narcissist showed me a video of my Father and my children singing and I started crying while I was driving and he said " You are such a cry baby, you shouldn't cry over this. That is why I should have not shown you this. If you were a good daughter you shouldn't have to cry." I was mad but I am in so much pain that I feel numb of any abuse I get from him.

Yes, I've experienced all these behaviors with a covert narcissist. Its difficult to try communicate or articulate the abuse you're experiencing to others because i feel it flys under the radar. Its a whole other level of abuse others don't truly understand or want to hear until they've experienced it personally. I agree that the covert narcissist is the most dangerous as most of the abusive, slanderous and insidious behaviors are spun around back onto you. Everyone will believe this person when they choose to be charismatic with others in the community. Its truly a nightmare

Yes, you are right! It is very hard to articulate, and it is easy to second guess one's self when the abuse lets up for a little while. I find myself wondering why I haven't gotten important things done....its like time passes at a different rate because the narc keeps you so busy with all their little games.

Thank you Rebecca, im definitely learning a lot about narcissists from your videos. Ive only just come to a blow up point with a friend of mine whom i would never have her down as a narcissistic personality until educating myself a little more. I realise now that my friend is the typical covert narcissist, and how dam manipulating these types are, I have always been left feeling very confused and letting her away with messing me about. She was always planning ahead to meet up and telling me how much shes missed me and cant wait to see me only to cancel last minute. When we have met up, i have always left feeling a lot of self doubt, and like she has done so much for me, she even once reminded me of the gifts she has bought for me over the years, whilst her partner was in the next room and could obviously hear the conversation. Her last dig was telling me that shes not doing Christmas presents for a few friends this year. I'm included in the no presents list. Im not bothered about receiving gifts, its the telling me that highly embarrassed and made me feel unimportant. I cant believe this has gone on for 10 years and ive only just figured this pattern out, Thanks again Rebecca ❤

Worked for years on turning your children into sneaks and liars. Tell people who never met you how they (Narc) had to raise your children for you…. Not a word of truth! Calling cousins who are/were close with me all our lives, with ridiculous lies, tearing our once great family into pieces. I could go on…. The envy and open resentment of my God given talent (that’s all I have, and thank goodness it supported my children and me). They have so many great abilities never developed. Why??? 50 plus years of destruction! What does this do for them?
