$5 Facebook Ads - Beginner & Advanced FB Advertising Strategy Using $5 Ad Sets, Revealed!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Are five dollar Facebook advertising campaigns for rookies only? Absolutely not! Beginners and advanced advertisers alike can leverage the five dollar Facebook ad to increase ROI fast.
Learn exact steps to run these types of Facebook advertising campaigns in this video: • How To Advertise On Fa...
One of the most common questions I receive in my Facebook videos is "How much money do I need to get started advertising on Facebook?"
More advanced marketers are always asking "how do I scale my Facebook ad campaigns?"
When used correctly, the five dollar Facebook ad campaign can accomplish both goals!
For beginners or internet marketers with tight budgets, it is obvious... A five dollar per day ad campaign is going to get you exposure on the Facebook ad platform while minimizing the investment required.
Most people don't realize that advanced advertisers are able to leverage these same five dollar Facebook ad campaigns to quickly and effectively test new audiences and interests while minimizing risk.
To go deeper into the 'how to' I have put together a video where I setup a new Facebook retargeting advertising campaign and duplicate out the ad set in the exact way you would to make this $5/day FB advertising method a reality.
Watch that video here: • Facebook Advertising &...
Then, once the ads are running, you need to be sure you are analyzing the Facebook ad data correctly. To help you with this, I have created 3 videos where we follow the campaign I set up above in the retargeting video and you see how I analyze and adjust the ad set budgets.
How To Analyze Facebook Ad Data Part 1: • How To Analyze Faceboo...
How To Analyze Facebook Ad Data Part 2: • Facebook Advertising: ...
How To Analyze Facebook Ad Data Part 3: • Facebook Advertising D...
This stuff really works as you can see from the above video series where I implemented this Facebook advertising strategy and document the process in the FB ads manager to show the results.
If you are wondering why this advertising strategy works, the best analogy I can come up with is that of roulette.
Player a walks up to the roulette table with 20 $5 chips and places them all on number 18.... The odds are stacked against this player and ultimately they lose their $100 quickly with nothing to show for it.
Player B walks up to a roulette table with 20 $5 chips as well...But takes a different approach.
On the first spin Player B places 20 $5 chips on 20 different numbers.... And hits one! This recoups Player B's Initial investment allowing that player to continue playing, again spreading out the bets.
The best part about Facebook advertising compared to roulette is that once you find something that works, you can double your bet on that and continue to spread your additional bets out on new, untested interests and audiences.
Slowly but surely you are able to create a number of different productive ad sets through testing that you are able to increase your budget and continue running for weeks, months, years on end!
Is important to keep in mind what a statistically significant test is.
You must have enough clicks, leads, sales in your funnel in order to make decisions that are truly based on the data.
If you're basing decisions on 25 clicks or the results from 10 subscribers… There is no statistical significance backing that decision.
If you're basing your decisions on 1000 clicks and 400 subscribers, the data is going to support making a correct decision because of the law of large numbers.
Your conversion rates are going to fluctuate much more with smaller numbers than they will with larger numbers.
This is why it is important when running five dollar Facebook ads to allow these ads to run long enough to obtain the data that you need to make informed and intelligent decisions.
Patience is your friend and ultimately you will get more statistically significant data spending $50 over the course of 10 days then you will from spending $50 in one day.
I show how to setup your conversion based campaigns in this way in the "How To Run Retargeting Ads On Facebook" video, here: • Facebook Advertising &...
In this video I mentioned two other videos That can help you advance your Facebook advertising game quickly!
First is the "know your numbers" video where you learn how to figure out your key performance indicators or KPIs.
• Facebook Advertising M...
Second is the "How to spy on your competitors ads on Facebook" Video to help you write compelling Facebook ad copy
• How To Spy On Your Com...
Finally, if you want help putting together your first Facebook advertising campaign, this video walks you through the entire process: • Advertising on Faceboo...

Here is the metaphor you are looking for: Imagine there are thousands of streams. Some have lots of fish. Some streams are totally empty. Each of your nets cost 5.00. You don't want to put all your nets in one stream (even though that stream may be full of fish, it also may be empty). In the beginning, you want to spread your nets out into as many streams as you can. After a few weeks of testing, pull your nets and reallocate the empty nets to the streams where you know there are fish.

I like starting with small daily budgets because it forces Facebook to bring you good traffic... Then you know if your getting a good deal on traffic to add more, if you're getting a bad deal on traffic for that ad set you turn it off. It's just my favorite way to optimize campaigns and it protects me from losing lots of money up front, which I've done way too many times on Facebook ads

Wow this is like actual relevant info! The thing I love is that you get very practical. Instead of just saying ''optimize your ads'' blabla, you give actual examples, like if your profit for a product is 10$, you'll let the ads run until you hit a10$.. Good stuff! Btw, when should I start splittesting when on a 5-10$ budget a day? Should I just see all the metrics like CTR, purchases and stuff, and just manually see what works best?

Thank you. Finally someone who actually explains how to do it rather than what to do. Obviously the other "gurus" know their stuff but there is definitely a feeling of either they don't know how to communicate the "how" to do it, or they just don't want to provide that since they had to learn and it would just lead to more potential competition. Thank you for actually bringing us the content we need to start learning it for ourselves.

Hey Miles, if I am running a PPE ad to 3 different audiences using EXISTING POST, and I tell them to message or comment 'info' to get more info, is there ANYWAY to be able to tell which people from which of my audiences messaged? via facebook tracking or any other third party tracking tool? Hey Miles, thank you for your great content! How can I prevent audience overlap when having just one audience per adset? For example, it can be that audience 1 has some overlap with audience 2. The obvious answer would be to exclude audience 2 from audience 1 and vice versa. But then I will also exclude persons who are in the overlap area. So that means that I have to make a third ad set which targets people who have both interests, right? This will quickly become a problem when I test 20 or more interests. Any advice?

Hey Miles, this is another AWESOME video. So I'm launching my first $5 a day facebook ad. When you talk about getting (1000 clicks) before the data can tell you if the ad is working dependent on your OTO customer value....am I right in assuming this is based on a website conversion or clicks to website campaign? If that's the case, how can we measure if page post engagement is performing?? It would be INCREDIBLE if you could do a video for people that want to start building their fan pages and building their list from scratch with absolutely no data...what campaigns they should run, how much they should spend etc....would be INSANE value for people like me! Again, thank you for your time, you're my Facebook hero!

First off, I think it's best to run conversion campaigns and not pay per engagement campaigns.... I know there are people out there teaching run paper engagement campaigns first, but I think that's a waste of money time and energy. I would set the campaign up to be a conversion campaign focused on your lead pixel. With that said, monitor your relevance score and your positive and negative feedback… And your click through rate to get started. You want to see a 3% or greater click through rate and you want to see an eight or nine or 10 relevance score. When you've had 1000 impressions, your click through rate is statistically significant.... When you had 1000 clicks, your often rate is statistically significant.... When you had 1000 opt ins, your OTO conversion rate is statistically significant.

Not early in the game, no. There are many more important things to split test, like audiences! I used to be all about manual bidding and recently have been letting the automatic bidding work and it seems to be working very very efficiently for me.

Hi Miles, love your videos. I watch them all the time! I have been advertising on FB for a few months now. I have been getting a few results but not at the level where I can scale yet (as its still costing me more than the product to sell one item atm), but have been speaking with FB and they have recommended that I start using Brand awareness campaigns first to gain more conversions down the like. Do you think I should do this instead of targeting a conversion like 'add to cart' first? Thanks again for the content :)

+Dan Briggs the words 'brand awareness' make me think they have no clue. Being a direct response marketer is all about conversions. Have you read Great Leads by Masterson, How to Write a Great Advertisement by Schwab? Study copywriting and direct response (Halbert, Kennedy, Schwartz, Caples) as the ''drip to this working is in the hook/words you use in the ad and on your pages!!!

Hi Miles, thanks for the reply. Thats just what I thought. No I haven't I might have to check them out. Although, my products are greetings cards, so I think the products are more important than the copy as they are really visual (I find carousel ads work best). The main issue is that my margin is quite small so I have to sell really consistently to break even. My conversions are quite good onsite (2-3%) and it takes about 40 - 50 clicks to make a sale, its just i'm spending about £2 more than the sale price for each sale... I'm currently using conversions (add to basket) with a closely matched audience it's just the clicks are so expensive. Might try a less targeted audience. Cheers Miles

Hey Miles, when looking for the 3% CTR on your ads, can you specify which exact one you mean? I know what your intending meaning is, but I don't know which metric to value on facebook because they have multiple CTR metrics now. There's now 6 different CTR metrics and this is what they're labeled: 1. CTR (link click-through rate) 2. Unique CTR (link click-through rate) 3. Outbound CTR (click-through rate) 4. Unique outbound CTR (link click-through rate) 5. CTR (All) 6. Unique CTR (All) So wondering, which one you're looking at to check your 3%? THANKS!

So I ended up going with this method. I thought $5 didn't work anymore. 😆 I started running ads to my lookalike audience and I'm getting the best conversions I've seen so far. Converting at 8% to 13%. So I'm excited... but somewhat reluctant to increase the budget as I don't want to mess with my optimization. In this situation, how would you suggest increasing the budget? or would you create a duplicate ad with a bigger starting budget? I thought that would make ads compete against each other which is why I haven't done it yet...

  • @MilesB

    @MilesB

    7 жыл бұрын

I would creep it up little by little every day, or every other day, starting with five dollars a day increases. Only make one change per day! if you're going to adjust the budget do so in the morning and then don't touch it till tomorrow. It's okay to increase the bid right there in the ad manager on this campaign. I'm having better luck going slow and steady with my budget increases then making any sort of big jumps in budget in a day. If you had a point where your numbers fall apart, revert back to what was working last.

HEy Miles extremely Nice video. Man if you want to test a product in let say 15 Countries using 40 keywords (all together), and use 5$ per day for 10 days, that is 15 x 5 x 10 = 750$ . Is that approach correct ? Is ok to have the 40 keywords together on each per country ? Thx!

  • @MilesB

    @MilesB

    7 жыл бұрын

Your math is correct but the approach is a little overwhelming. What you described is at least three or four phases of testing all wrapped in which would become overwhelming for even a professional ad manager to implement. The data you would receive from this would be a disaster to sort through as well. Here's what I'd do... First, I'd group all 15 countries together for one ad set. I would not split test of the country level. Second, I'd put all 40 keywords together into one ad set. Third, I'd start with one ad, my longest copy and most compelling ad possible. That's it! I get one ad set and one ad running first.... If you can increase the budget on that add to 30 or $50 per day you will see results (data) more quickly... And this will drive relevant traffic so you can test your landing page and your sales page which is incredibly important. Then, after a week or two of running these ads look at your click-through rate on the ads, your conversion rate for leads, your conversion rate for sales... Whichever is performing worst, set up a split test there to fix that. You want at least a 3% click through rate, 20% optin rate, 2% sales rate.

  • @MilesB

I'm guessing you don't go direct to sale from cold traffic on Facebook… So there's probably an intermediary step that I would monitor. Generally that's a cost per lead Regarding the budget, I wouldn't change a thing. Five dollars per ad set is the starting place and only increase the ones that deliver a cost per lead within your KPI
