Just sayin' the DS/DI won't spend all fucking day watching you workout if you sail through them, they might throw an extra 50 or so at you, but honestly that isn't shit. They won't sit there for 3 hours to break you, because guess what you have a thousand other fucking things to do in a day.

A good cheat on the situps is to let yourself drop to the floor on the second part, then use that momentum to sit up again. You can do twice as many using this technique.

butterfly kicks, or just leaving feet at 6" while wearing those heavy boots... the worst, and they dont start til everyones feet are 6" raised
you know what really helps my endurance, jump roping every day. thanks for this video. now I know what to add to my daily boot camp prep!
Thanks for the information!! Needed it, i ship soon and didnt know what exactly to do with workout wise! Thanks again
Excellent video, Nicky. I wish I had known this info before boot camp. Thank you for your great input.
I only remember 10 counts; air chairs; a couple weird ones where you lay flat something with sharks. But then again maybe it's different for male vs integrated divisions. Planks would help since you can do them during p days in your rack when no one is looking so your body doesn't get used to doing nothing and then you cant pass your PFA

I'm guessing some RDC's have their "favorite exercises but still helpful either way.
I really enjoyed your video, I went to bootcamp in the United States Navy in Orlando Florida, back in May 1986, you are correct about those jumping jacks I hated jumping jacks because not everyone could work as a team, you always had that one person, just one. I can remember as we hit the last clap then you could hear that one person behind you, that claps two seconds after everyone else has stopped clapping. I hated jumping jacks, not that they were hard, just that you had to do so many, because of that one person was out of sync.
I'm shipping May 30th. Your videos are helping me a lot. I'm actually going to utilize your advice by adding it into my current workout routine 😁💪
Thought i should start preparing for bootcamp today. Haven't done a pushup in like a year, i could only do 12. Dropped again a while later, 14, a little while later 15. At the end of the day I'm at 20. Just like riding a bike
This was very helpful! Gonna pass this on to my fiancé. He goes to boot camp in December. We will be doing this together to prepare him :)
Just do 8-Counts all day. pretty much covers every exercise you need.

I've been running miles everyday so I can prepare for any cardio workouts in boot camp. But I have NO upperbody strength like literally zero I can't even do one push-up! What do you suggest I do? :( skip the cardio & just do weights now?
@NICKYMGTV
7 жыл бұрын
dont skip anything! you'll need it. Secondly if you can do push ups do a combo of planks, and also doing modified push ups with your knees on the ground. Once you get better you can do push ups where you push up and then go all the way down until you lay down. Slowly working your way up to doing normal push up. You should push yourself now on your own terms before you go to bootcamp and are crying in agony lol

lol thank you my sister got them for me.
I just graduated so I’d say push ups, sit ups, ad at least a 2 mile but a 3 mile run would help for the PFA but we got beat a lot so I would definitely advise 10 counts. 1 Squat down, 2 kick your legs out, 3 bring your knees up to your right elbow, 4 kick back out, 5 bring your legs to knees to your left elbow, 6 kick back out, 7 push up (down), 8 push up (up), 9 back to a squat, 10 jump back up. And your going to do a lot of them. Sundials it’s like an iron cross but your rotating your arms and last would be air chairs. Sit down with your knees at a 90 degree angle with no support. Those would be my advice to anyone about to go to boot camp. Hope this is helpful Hooya go navy
Thanks for your video!! Can you give some idea of roughly how much of your time in bootcamp is spent doing all the exercise/running/etc? Most of the things I watch make it seem like it's basically all day every day. I'm hoping it's not quite that much. I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind of shape I should be in before going. I'm 32, so probably not as 'resilient' as most of the people joining, and I don't wanna get kicked out for some sort of injury or whatever. Thanks!
I am trying to join the Navy either as enlisted or officer. I've been working out, lifting weights, doing cardio. I also I have job that is super heavy with the exercise. My thing is that I am not good at doing push-ups, nor sit-ups is there a way that I can help myself out.

Paloma Cecilia sorry if this is too late, I would like to help you out if it's not too late, how many push-ups and sit ups can you do?.
8count body builders we do in NJROTC for pt and we have to do abt 15-20 and if someone didn’t start when everyone else did we’d restart and practically everything else we did
I'm trying to decide between Navy and Air Force after the end of next year. I'm doing incline push ups and planks to work up from couch potato to ready for basic training.

I love your intro in this vid. also you should redo a workout vid for 2018-19
Hey Nicky I'm leaving for boot camp in a few months and I'm good at push ups and running however my question is do you have a link to where I can find the full navy PRT work out
Interesting. My boot camp was in San Diego, in 1966. We did practically zero exercises. Our physical training was pretty much limited to learning and rehearsing our graduation day parade. We carried an M-1 rifle (non-functional, leaded piece) with tight sling...make it pop! There was a routine done, called "physical drill with arms" which was done in sync with military music, 120 beats per minute, same as marching pace. Darned rifle was swung around this way and that, everybody, in unison, at wide interval. A manual-at-arms routine was done, also, with this club of a rifle. The whole routine took maybe an hour. Every day we did this. No pushups, no running, no nothing. We were somehow misbehaving one day, and our company commander decided to punish us. We go to wide interval, port arms and start to double-time across the grinder, 180 beats per minute. After about a minute, he brings us to a halt, and he is puffing and panting and asks us if we learned our lesson. Yeah...we learned that this overweight chain-smoking bosun has zero endurance. We did have a "thinking position" with the M-1 that was kind of painful after several minutes, but it was not tiring. The fat kid in the company was the chow runner, who had to secure permission for us to eat, and get a position in the queue on the grinder outside the mess hall. That was our exercise.

Meanwhile next door at the MCRD is was "drop and give me 25, you maggots!". If you haven't been to San Diego recently, you won't recognize the old Navy TNG Center. It's all been commercially developed. The USS Recruit is still sitting off Harbor Drive though.

your a big help thanks.
Im in AJROTC at tate high school and we do all of these exercises.
Would it be a good ideal to practice as many of these as possible with ankle and wrist weights before i go in? I have some that i have been using for running and have been doing most of the exercises without them.
new sub great content man thanks a lot
love the toy story socks!
Guys, just do a butt load of pushups and sit ups everyday. And I don't mean overtrain, just do reps until failure. In 3 weeks you'll see a difference. If you can't do pushups do the ones with your knees on the ground, can't do sit ups? Put your hands on the ground and do them till failure until you build up your strength. if you're really weak do it in the morning and before dinner or afternoon. Eat well!
thank you for this video.

Wow so much has changed since i've gone to bootcamp. in bootcamp they'd tell us half way up, half way down for situps. you'd get those people that'd move and we'd have to start over again.
Gah shit. I need to hurry up and practice. Get shipped out April 19th O_O is cereal/ramin a good diet? :S
Quick question. I'm a real skinny guy. I can hardly bench 135. But I can squeeze in 35-40 push-ups in about 1:30. Curl ups are easy. I'd say I'm average at cardio because I used to smoke weed. What routines would you recommend that I work on to build more upper body strength?
@VanOfSalt
5 жыл бұрын
Push ups, pull ups(not curl ups), bench press, do some dumbbell shoulder workouts, trust me I know how you feel my guy, I’m the same way. But that’s literally what you have to do, repeat, repeat, repeat. Also, eat A LOTTT of food. Or as much as you can. Gotta put more calories in than you’re working out.

@TrollerzTV
3 жыл бұрын
how'd you do?
I just enlisted in the army, tenantive leave to fort benning is currently jan 11th. I'm curious about availability of proteins, what a typical chow consists of, I assume bcaa and supplements in general won't be available. I stopped smoking weed, which means I won't eat like retard anymore (like have to sleep sitting up or I'll puke) This type of fitness is a hard habit to start so I'm damn glad I don't have choice, when I have to do something (shitty but ok paying jobs) and especially something that has extreme benefit waiting at the other end, I get good at it. I'm scared as hell for the first 2 weeks, but excited as fuck for that day when I notice a difference. My old landscaping boss is letting me store my preciois 01 dodge ram at his compound. I got 1 baby mama bill each month, I'm not in any relationship, I have 2 secured and 1 unsecured credit card in rotation and my utilization will def drop while at basic. My biggest fear is getting confused or not understanding DI and the whole company getting wrecked because I fucked up. I need this ass kicking bad. Like a jump start for the soul. And lastly, idc what I have to do, I need to be able to go to Scotland, Ill travel anywhere but it is absolutely imperative I get to Scotland at some point. Thanks for the Intel, even though I'm army and you're navy.
Mt rdc's favorite were probably 8 counts and air chairs
Can you talk losing weight before boot camp and whether or not its necessary? Thanks, bro.

You can use pull up bands to assist you with trying to achieve 1 pull up. As for when you're able to do 1, just keep practicing. I used to be able to do 8, after one month of practice 22.

Step 1: stand until you don't think you can stand any longer. Step 2: sit indian style until you don't think you can any more. Step 3: run every once in a while. Step 4: do a pull up every now and again. Bootcamp was a disappointment. You have to be incredibly out of shape to not make it.

about how many minutes were these exercises range from?
So I am a future navy, planning since beginning of 2016. But I was wondering about if it'd be good for me. Because I'm someone that "takes life too seriously" you can say. Maybe awkward and quiet I like to keep to myself I don't talk or can't keep a good conversation going, would this be a problem for me in the military? I love the fact of being a soldier/sailor tho. I called a few Navy recruiters and they all said we can join until 39 years old. Like, graduate from boot camp before you turn 39. I just turned 34 last week, so I'm feeling the heat a little about joining soon. Good luck!
Is it 10 count burpees or 8 count body builders? Or does it even matter, just pick one and do it to prepare?

Call your closest recruiting office and ask
So I have a question. You said that (for example the mountain climbers) you couldn’t build endurance for them. What happens when someone has to stop and take a break for a second? Like after those fifteen, I’m assuming you had to stop for a few seconds. Is this correct? And if so what happened? Did you get yelled at? Did they make all of you do more? Etc. thankyou your videos are helping me out a lot!!

Very handy
I think mountain climbers and squats are a cheat code for cardio
Do they have a gym at navy bootcamp?

Cole Marshall a little late but yes and then increase them amount you can do once they become easy
Do 300 jumping jacks, 2 miles 100 push ups or more, horse stance for 1 minutes, 200 squats, 100 or more 10 counts, 2-3 minutes mountain climber, 100 pull ups if you can. Do all this but in sets of 20 reps rest then another 20 rest then another 20 and so on.
Does this count for the marines
