    Don't lie to your recruiter. Your recruiter is your friend. Tell him everything and be honest. IF he is a good recruiter, he will either be real with you and tell you that you ain't fit or he/she will help you con the MEPS guys. Mine was fucking bomber about that.

    @@ssimp211 it depends on your POV. Your recruiter may try and stick you in a job because it needs filling. But they’re going to try and get you in. Your recruiter only has control over so much after that it’s out of their hands

    The "Don't lie about medical stuff" backfires more often than not. Besides the severe delays it can cause, a person's dreams of joining the military can be dashed by something as simple as "I had a skin rash once."

    Bruh my friend got prescribed one when he was sick had some breathing difficulties and a nasal drip and didn’t have asthma but got an inhaler temporarily and didn’t use it once but the recruiter told him not to say anything about cause he didn’t have asthma and but under the pressure of them finding out and him getting in trouble along with nicotine withdrawals he told them the whole story and they instantly banned him from the national guarded and it took him 5 months to get breathing test and lung test done for him too join the army so In some cases that don’t matter lie don’t bring it up hes graduating in two or three days from boot camp.

    Don't rat your recruiter out??? If your recruiter told you to lie, they don't deserve your loyalty....because trust me, when the Navy goes back to the recruiter and they will, he/she isn't going to admit to telling you to lie.... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. They are going to say they didn't know anything about your "issue" what ever that might be. So it will all be on YOU. Oh, and there is such thing as a "fraudulent enlistment" that you CAN be prosecuted for. The can also take away guarantees etc..... If your recruiter tells you to lie, smile, nod your head and then tell the truth, unless it's some really non-issue that's not going to matter like a broken bone that's healed and doesn't cause you any problems etc.... I don't care how "cool" or "chilled out" your recruiter is, you are a number to them.....you are filling a quota that they have.

But I do still have all the feeling and movement in it. my recruiter didn’t care. All I gotta do is lose some weight, get my ged, and boom thats it. Well i mean thats all that’s required but of course i got to give the medical records and shit, finger printing, meps etc. man honestly i thought id never make it, i mean i have a tough time with education stuff but its all becoming clear now. • @Daddyvader7
    @Daddyvader74 жыл бұрын

    My advice if it’s an issue you know will take place during BMT or the military don’t lie ! Your only hurting yourself. Plus after BMT you get new medical records that follow you the rest of your life so your civilian records are never really pulled. So don’t stress that. Only on extreme cases are they pulled so other than that don’t stress it. It’s a process don’t stress it out. Once your out of BMT without any incidents for 7 and a half weeks, your pretty much in the clear for that time until you finish serving. Just know that they may pull your civilian records but they really focus on your new military record. For example, if you all of a sudden come out that your allergic to shrimp it may limit your job openings or make your switch jobs but they won’t get rid of you. On top of that they’ll rotate you to something else most likely. On top of that, let’s say you lied about the shrimp allergy before and your two years into service. If it gets worse or you want to get it treated you can, since as far as the military now knows and as far as you know, it’s a new allergy and isn’t in your new medical records and they won’t pull your civilian ones especially if they’re hard to find. If they are hard to find and you can’t even find them, they most likely can’t find them. But again, don’t stress that. It’s only a stresser if you ate shrimp at BMT and had a reaction minor irritant major, that you would need to really worry, and well then your out of luck. But if you know how to avoid allergens or food allergies or ect. In terms of that stuff your good. With regard to MRE’s, trade or just don’t eat the stuff your allergic to. Those MRE’s pack something around 2,500 calories so you don’t have to eat everything in them, especially since you’ll have another meal or two that day if possible. It’s not as deep or as “dangerous” as military personnel make it though it can be if your not careful and eat shrimp and are deathly allergic you will die most likely. But that’s the risk you took, and that’s why you know not to eat shrimp or things your allergic to at all. If a new allergy emerges they’ll again check your new military record and you’ll be on your way to get desensitized. What some ppl do is they just go to a doctor like an allergist and pay out of pocket so theirs no ties to the insurance companies and all, and it goes under the record by the military so they do it off base. Which is totally fine if you want to fix allergies that bad and worried about the military kicking you out, Changing your job or noticing changes.

    So I'm planning on joining the Navy soon but I lack a sense of smell, I have never had a sense of smell but it really hasn't been much of a problem. Nobody even knew anything was different about me until I was about 12 years old, I have never had a doctor diagnose me so there is no paperwork about it. When I told my recruiter he pretty much said that MEPS would not ask about it and that they had no way to test it. I'm pretty sure I could get away with it if I had to, what do you guys think?

After all my research what I had is called legg-perthes and it is on the DODI. Is it still possible for me to get a waiver? I should up at recruiter with all dr notes from 1998 to 2004 hoping it will help.

The kid didn't tell his recruiter and somehow didn't notice that he was missing his leg. The kids Senator or Congresswomen called sarge and asked why the kid was not allowed to join. Sarge explained that he was missing his leg. The woman that apologized then hung up the phone.

For crying out loud, be prepared mentally and physically. You're all joining the military, not some camp cuz you have no plans. Be responsible and inspire others.

    I think that it will be very difficult for you to do all the PT in bootcamp and afterwards because there is a lot of emphasis on Pushups, burpees...exagerated shoulder and upper body movements in general involved...you have to think hard and evaluate if the military is really for you because you could get too hurt in the process of trying to pass the PT.

I scored an 85 on the ASVAB and went to meps wanting IT, my clearance didn't come back fast enough so I chose SECF which is also a good rate I wanted.
