The best movie to test your soundbar is Topgun Maverick although it came out in 2022

Gravity & Fury Road are by far the best for atmos, problem is finding gravity luxe edition blu ray.

Pixar’s “Brave” there’s a lot of moving pieces in that film. Not to mention, it was the first film with Dolby Atmos.

try the intro of the movie Unbroken.... the sound is unreal. I demo that one quite a bit for my guests.

Dune part 2 is insane. (and I only have 6.0, but with 15" Altec 605A as my mains)

nice post. Typically, Atmos is different than 5.1 or 7.1. It is because of Atmos provides the immersive sound from height/ceiling channels beyond the Left/Right/Front/Rear. That is, the sound travelling from height/ceiling ones to bottom ones, like rain falls. Or helicopters taking off to sky which produce sound effect of the speakers from the floor to height/ceiling. I am not very smart and will need your help. Can you please indicate the clips and the timing with height channels as part of the Atmos for those movies, again?

Me personally the best movies outhere with the best doby atmos scenes is Blade Runner 2049, Zack Snyders 300, Dune, and Zack Snyders Justice League, all on 4k blu ray.

First I watched the sonos arc review and this being the second one I'm mighty impressed with the content. Excellent suggestions. I am unsure whether to get the Bose 900 or the sonos arc or use that budget to go for traditional setup. Will be visiting Bose showroom tomorrow. I've personally heard the 300 soundbar + the 500 bass module and that already blew my mind. The only bose I had until now were the headphones, QC 25's and i picked them for one reason only, stupendous noise cancelling and they hold true to this day. 🙂

What did you end up going with? Curious about your thoughts. I have the Sonos Play Bar (pre-arc) with surround. And in another room I recently got Bose 900 with surround speakers and a sub. For me the Sonos system hits better, I can feel the sound effects, but I lose some clarity in the mids range and miss some details. Whereas with the Bose I can hear everything super clear and sounds vivid, but I don't necessarily feel the impact of hits like gunshots, etc. Both are great experiences.

@@guoanwen1981 I settled with a 700 Soundbar and 700 bass module. As I got a superb deal on just the Soundbar. And now the search for the omnijewel 700 surrounds begin 😁. I think setting up with adaptiq or then adjusting the bass and treble levels via apps will work wonders. Do you also have be surrounds with Bose? If yes then time to put a cloth over them during the calibration so they are a bit louder.

can u indicate which # number scene on the disk u are actually referring to? be much easier to find rather guessing.

What would you suggest if someone is not enjoying q950a? A dedicated home theatre or some other soundbar? Music is not at all good on q950a.

I would check out the Sonos Arc in store for a music demo at a minimum. You could start with just the bar and sub to see if you like it. Second hand units can be a great option to save a bit of cash. I’m a big fan of the Arc for music and have one as my main soundbar. You could always go down the Home Theatre route and potentially get a setup cheaper with similar performance.

I have tx-nr696 Onkyo and a set of Yamaha speakers which costs a fortune (for me) and i placed the speakers correctly included 2 in ceiling height speakers. But i am very sad i could not really feel the atmos sounds. If I use room correction its sounds far worse.

This website has Dolby Atmos trailers that you can download for free and test on your TV so long as it's got powerful enough internals to run the large files: thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/ I've also got a video coming out in a few days that'll show you how to run some Dolby atmos content through a computer to your sound system. I'm not rich but I have dolby atmos, you can get a unit for about 1300.00

How many Atmos speakers are you using because if you've got 2 you will be getting less than what you would if you're using 4 or more

Is there a difference in Atmos content or quality between streaming and Bluray?

yes! big difference! stream is with 768 kbits, uhd with 5 mbits, its often more dynamic and has a much better location. hear all quiet on the western front.

The latest Batman film is awesome..Sonos really shines....

@@Milan-cf1xe You should, the Arc isn’t much better than the beam. Soundstage is wider due to being bigger but the upward firing drivers don’t do a whole lot. i am waiting for Sonos next soundbar.

I have a 4k Android TV box with HDMI eARC 2.1 output at my home. If I start a soundbar with Dolpy Atmos feature, will Dolpy Atmos work?

you need an atmos receiver, and heights for atmos to get enabled. Without heights, wont work..

They can be configured as 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 or 5.2.2 or 5.2.4 midele number being subs. And there are diffeernt metods to achieve height effects with certain speakers. But nothing beats an legit height speakers, Theya re located towards the ceiling or in the ceiling. @@muzaffercrazyrooster ATmos also allows unlimited channels to be added, while DTS X is limited to 11 channels.

Shame non of the stream channels have atmos in the uk
