The dog one is 10 times scarier when you wonder just how long this man was watching their house prior to the incident, how many nights did he stare at the house that he knew the dog scratches to come in? did he test nights before to see if the dog would react to his presence? Did he wait/plan for the husband to leave? Just how long was this man watching them? And when did he first see them?

@am magnolia I once heard that the suicide forest in Japan that's at the base of Mount Fuji. Not only do people enter the forest to commit suicide, but supposedly Japan's most diabolical and deranged citizens will visit the forest and will sit in like an ambush position waiting for soon-to-be suicide victims to enter, or curious tourists. Once they enter the kill zone... that's when they attack using knives or other sharp or blunt instruments. Other psychopaths who enter the forest for the same reason and spot each other are also said to fight to the death. Or sneak up on the other to plunge the knife in

@@ammagnolia I disagree to an extent. I think it's possible for a killer to feel a sense of fear when looking for victims. It's this fear that further drives the motive to kill while also keeping them "safe", at least in their minds. Some killers even feel heavy senses of guilt and remorse after they kill. But once they're over it, the impulse to kill overtakes them once again, and the cycle continues. Look up "the weepy voice killer" for an example of this type of killer... Fear could also work against a killer by forcing the killer to rush things leaving evidence behind

When I was 18 I had to take the bus to and from work and certain ones stopped runnin at a certain time. On the odd days I worked a closing shift or a double and didn’t leave til late I usually had no ride so I’d have to take the only bus I could and it dropped me off about 2 miles from home. I’d have to walk creepy deserted roads and sparsely populated residential streets lit dimly by old street lamps and the route always freaked me out, serious bad gut feeling stuff. To distract myself from that I’d play my music in my headphones as loud as I could on my crappy little MP3 player. Luckily I was never murdered so there’s that.

It's dangerous for sure. When I was a naive teenager (19, the age when we think we are made out of rubber, and magic) I decided to walk home from a show in Baltimore. I put headphones in to listen to the CD I had bought at the show. Within 10 minutes out of nowhere I was punched in the back of the head and literally jumped on by 3 guys, they took everything that wasn't my clothes, and tried to stab me in the chest but I pulled my arm in front and blocked it. All this happened in about 15 seconds, they ran off just as fast as they appeared. Im missing part of my left tricep from the incident, but it could have been way worse. TL;DR Don't walk around at night with headphones. ESPECIALLY in dodgy areas.

Brandi said her husband was a risk to the kids because he tried to commit suicide in high school, this just reminds me that there are warning signs: she basically told him her insecurity, that she wasn't safe for the kids and that she was suicidal. I had a dream once where I was watching myself sleep and I knew I was asleep in the dream (NO I was NOT astral projecting) and I saw a shadow outside. A long one. Like how when the sun is setting or rising and it can make the shadow of a person extremely long, you know. So the angle of the window wouldn’t let me see what was causing the shadow so I left my room still in the dream and I went to my front door and when I opened it and stepped outside. I looked right at where the shadow’s projector should have been and saw... nothing. It wasn’t sudden, like I was still observing that there was a shadow but it was like something was hidden from sight, intentionally. So when I came to the realization that whatever was causing the shadow didn’t want to be seen. I woke up in real life. Standing outside. Where I just was in the dream. I walked back to my room frightened and checked my clock to see I wasn’t going insane and I saw it was 2:37 in the morning. Then after I laid back down on my bed ready to go asleep again, that’s when I saw it. Myself staring back at me, in a look of confusion. I put 2 and 2 together and realized what had just happened to me was a dream loop.

I stumbled on a post on r/confessions few weeks ago and its still on my mind.. OP had a stable life, wife and kids and a good job but for some reason he went off the rails. I dont remember all the details but he told his wife that he went to see a buddy of his for a day, but stayed alone in his car and drank alcohol (maybe as a way to have a day off to himself idk) but he ended up buying weed into heavier drugs.. basically he was supposed to be gone for a day but he went on a drinking/drug binge for 4-5 days without answering his phone because he was too ashamed, his friends and family had no idea where he was, he spent all his money and missed his kids birthday. The post ended by him saying that all he had left was one cigarette, and he had been looking at it for hours feeling like he fucked his life up and that if he smoked it he wouldnt have anything anymore, post was deleted and no update was made. (story felt real, he posted a pic of his bank account which was in the negative, pics of his car full trash since he slept and ate in it for days)

The motel story gives me chills to this day; they were undoubtedly human traffickers who planned to abduct her and sell her into white slavery. It reminds me of another story where a young woman goes to see a room for rent and the "renter" keeps trying to get her to check out the basement but she manages to leave before he can get her down there. She then calls the cops about the place and, upon investigation, they find out the house she was looking at had been abandoned for years (so the "renter" was just some random creep) and, in the basement, there was a wire going across the stairs so she would've tripped if she went down there, making it easier to subdue her.

It was my son, hiding. He said: "Mom, I heard that too". This is old, but always gold. I would love to see a video with this kind of short horror stories, whether they are real or fake, old or new. With Lazy Masquerade's ability to tell a story, that would probably be my favourite video 👍

So funny thing about the motel story. I live in Virginia. I was coming back from Michigan back in October. Ended up canceling my hotel reservation because I found out the one I had made a reservation for was a bedbug hive. Opted to drive the whole way in one day. Not the smartest thing I've ever done, but hey I made it. But I get back into VA late that night, and I'm of course having those thoughts of 'maybe I should stop soon, maybe find some roadside motel, it'll be fine.' I pushed through more out of hatred of bedbugs than anything, and I make it home. The route I was coming down? US-250. So yeah, separated by a decade, but I've been in that OPs position on that exact same road. I didn't know it, but I would have driven by the exact spot.

I remember my sister telling me about a few ( almost journal entries? ) on Reddit that we’re posted a good couple years ago. I have no idea what subreddit they were posted on- but the journal entries were from a girl who worked at an asylum. The head of the asylum was this charismatic young man, who everyone loved- but one of the patients said something about him like “He’s not who you think he is” or something like that, and the patient urged her to check the historical records of the asylum. These records were heavily guarded for some reason, so it was extremely difficult to access them. However, the girl managed to find a photo of the founder of the asylum. The man in the photo was the same exact man who was the head of the asylum ( this picture must’ve been 70+ years old ) and the man had the same name, he was identical, so the chances are ( going off of his name, identical appearance, heavily guarded historical records, and what the patient said ) these two men were the same. In the last entry she had ever posted, she said something about thinking they had caught onto her or something and her account was dead after that, no posts or activity. I think about it sometimes and I always get this eerie feeling about it. The details are really fuzzy, because she told this to me about two years ago, and she couldn’t quite remember a lot herself- but I definitely urge you to find these posts if they still exist!

I lived in the same town as Jason and Brandi. My family knows their family. When it happened, to say the whole town of 800 people was shocked is an understatement. We didn't think this kind of thing could happen here. It still doesnt feel real. Their house sat empty for months; they were trying to sell it after the incident and of course, no one wanted to buy it. My uncle (police officer) was one of the first on the scene. He and the other officers were really messed up after that. You really don't know what people are capable of until its too late. Its weird to think about, but in a town where you think you know everyone, or at least it seems like everyone knows you, you really can't know everyone. Bad things happen everywhere. No one is immune

Idk about the motel one. How did she not know the name of the motel that she stopped at, especially since it was such a scary experience? She drove to it & drove away from it. She couldn't even remember the road? And waiting 3 weeks to call le is pretty funky. Just let who knows how many others, that might happen to come through, get the experience of whatever they were thinking of doing to her. Along with that 2nd guy that she didnt see go into the room, this sounds like that movie I saw about the motel where they had an alternate, hidden entrance into the guest room. Iirc, there was a tunnel involved that went to, I think it was the back room of the motel office, something like that. This story sounds alot like that movie, except in the movie it was a couple instead of a single female & I think that they had some car breakdown on a road trip during non business hours. That was why they were at the motel. But, ha ha, I cant remember the name of the movie > I saw it a number of years ago & I wasnt impressed. But this op's story sounds thin. I guess she could be kind of flighty or absentminded & cavalier about allowing dangerous ppl to continue to go about their evil business uninterrupted. A maybe she just happens to have friends strategically spread across the country on the way to the reunion, to stay with...very convenient. I could ride with that except there are too many things off here. At best, she sucks for not telling le about them to keep someone else from falling victim to whatever they were planning.

The reason for moving to those specific locations is gps coordinates are often inaccurate in deserts. Especially in Australia due to its odd location on the globe.
