As a viewer who supports a somewhat plant based diet and vegan lifestyle, I'm glad hunters like these express their ethics and views to which I fully support. Thats the problem with most vegans today is that they criticize and attack those who do not share the same beliefs even if youre eating ethically sourced food. This is the most ethical way to hunt in my opinion and I fully support it. All this over proccessed food from not just fast food but also grocery stores and large corporations is what ruins peoples health in this day and age. These guys not only enjoy what they do but also protect and preserve the ecosystem around them while also honoring the life of the game in which they hunt, nothing but respect from me. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us Xander!

I would say there's no ethical way to murder something. the reasoning I heard in this video is that it's an invasive species, there are many ways to prevent it from damaging the ecosystem that don't involve causing it pain or dismissing its autonomy as a sentient being. I also heard that there's a justification in general to kill certain animals because it's a source of protein? there are many sources of protein, that's such a cop out. there's no ethical justification for hunting. does it make you a bad person? in my opinion, no but I wish people would stop deluding themselves into thinking they are not needlessly killing a sentient being. I'm sure this'll get tons of thumbs down lol but oh well
@chrisleehardy

@@tintintin070 I hear you and I agree with some of what you're saying. Murder is by no means ethical sure but the practice of hunting is something we humans have done for most of our existence and along the way there have been means of honoring the soul/spirit/sentient being for supplying its sustenance. That's a very cliche reason but still I wouldnt rule out all hunting in general as being murderous or that all hunters aren't conscious of the life they are taking to provide for them. Again, as long as its the most painless and least agonizing way, that would be ethical hunting but letting an animal suffer is just cruel. And yeah, I love eating nuts for my protein haha

@@philipwilliams5808 Hi Philip, did you actually watch the video all the way through? I think Xander did a wonderful job explaining why bow hunting is relevant and justifiable today. IF you did watch all the way through, I'd love to hear why you think it isn't.
I would normally not have watched a hunting video, except I love Xander's videos. This one was not only educational, but it was also inspiring. This does not mean I will go out and hunt myself, but I have so much more understanding why people do it. I never thought about the impact and usefulness hunting has on wildlife management. Another great video!

"The hunt brings purpose to being out in places like that." That is so well articulated...exactly how I feel about fishing but have never been able to put it into such perfect words. I also never knew there was such a skilled documentarian in you but this was super well done. Excellent videography too and those tall grasses really made for a great vibe. A valuable look into the perspective of considerate, ethical hunters...you learned and a lot of us non-hunters got an opportunity to learn a lot here too

NO FREAKING WAY!!!!! I just got done watching Clay win Alone then fired up my computer to watch my youtube vids nd sure enough, you were hunting with him! What a coincidence! I LOVE IT. I am a new hunter/fisher woman and loved watching this video. It inspired me to keep going! Thank you Xander!!!
What an awesome experience. Clay and Benji are the perfect embodiment of what a hunter should be in my opinion. I hope this has made you catch the bug for hunting. There really is nothing like walking through the woods and stopping dead in your tracks because you heard something or smelled something and then following it . Nate
You truly are blessed to be able to go on a hunt with Clay Hayes. Badass video. Enjoyed Benji speaking and in the video as well. Thanks Xander!
Really really loved this one...got educated a ton on hunting & hunters, the editing/pacing was awesome (love that buildup to your first encounter with a hog, arrow notched and the wind in the brush made it more thrilling than most movies) and you made it down south to my neck of the woods! Much love to you, Clay and Benji!

I like how Clay explains the conservation side of things. Benji also describes how I feel about animals never living a free life if they are just raised and slaughtered. A lot of people don't understand how much hunters care about wildlife and just the love of being outdoors.

Really cool video Xander. You always deliver with quality content, not only just showing the hunt but having great conversation about the how and why, while always showing respect for the beasts and the practice. Love it.
This one was so well done Xander. I really appreciate not only you getting out of your comfort zone, but also showcasing the perspective of hunters in such a well done but neutral way. I don’t hunt myself but this was just objectively quality content. Can’t wait for the next one 🤙🏻
That experience brought u to an all new level of camping... Great bunch of guys and awesome video !
Thank you for sharing this trip with us! It was incredible to tag along with your first experience. From everyone's genuine personalities, the peaceful bog environment, and mann....that FOOD, it was all phenomenal. Looking forward to more of your hunting and camping trips alike!
What and honour to hunt with a legend like Clay Hayes! You learned more on this trip than you would in 10 seasons on your own. Plusss hunting for hogs.. with a struggle stick..in Florida!? 🏕🏹🐗 An Incredible experience! One we Northern boys dream of. Hey, great to see a new video of you Xander. So excited to watch this after lunch.
Just amazing Xander. Thanks for taking your time and sharing this.
An absolutely incredible piece of film making. Made me completely change my views on hunting. Think this has filmed and edited in such a sensitive way and, of course, ensures to leave nature at its very centre. Simply incredible work.
Thank u so much for sharing you’re great adventures to us ❤️
Respect for all traditional bow hunters.🏹
Love this video Xander! You got to experience both the beauty and the downfalls of hunting and every aspect in between. It’s beautiful and a true adventure, my friend!
Interesting video this week. Lots of good information and you getting the chance to learn from two guys that do this all the time. Glad you got time to spend with them and share their wisdom. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, that looked like an awesome exciting trip! Great to see a well-organized hunting video from you.
Amazing content man. Great well put together video showing the perspective of the hunter, thanks!
Health and Wholeness to you man! Keep up the inspiration that you do consistently give to those around you!!!
Xander! This video blew my mind! Such good filmmaking, such good questions, the scenery was just perfect! My heart broke on day 3, when you were that close to this huge pig but it left! I am big into hunting but I still feel sorry and thankfull for every animal I get. For me this is a big part of hunting so it was amazing seeing you talk about it even thoug brief only. Thank you so much for uploading really entertaining videos! Wish you all the best!
What an awesome film! I’m new to hunting and fishing and I really enjoyed their perspectives and commentary. And it was really cool seeing how close you got to those hogs! Great work Xander!
I really like the little interviews in the video it adds to the peacefulness of the entire video and we get to know the people you are with
My thoughts are.. hunting is far more humane and ethical than mass farming. Every point these guys made is true. Good luck with future hunting, I think you'll do better on your own as I feel hunting is more about instinct than anything. Great vid bro! Hope you enjoyed that as much as we did :)

Great experience. Thanks for sharing. Honestly your videos motivate us to be outdoors more, regardless of the season.
Absolutely loved this, I've always found hunters to be the ones who have the greatest respect for animals. They truly understand the balance that needs to be maintained in nature. When done right hunting is a beautiful thing that keeps us in touch with nature. Loved this video Xander
absolutely lovely video, those guys have a great attitude towards hunting! Keep up the good content!
great video! loved your ability to include so much education in your experience!
I really appreciated these perspectives. I think my opinion on hunting turns on how the hunters view what they're hunting. Something to be respected vs something to be dominated. It was clear that Clay has a deep love and respect for the things he hunts and the environments he hunts in. Thanks for bringing us those perspectives - great video Xander!
Great video man - love hearing their reasoning and seeing you experience it for the first time was very cool too. Definitely feel like we will be seeing you on Alone in the future!

Great video as always! Much love from Saskatchewan!
Loved this video. It was well worth the wait
That was cool! I think you captured an essence of something that is very misunderstood. Hunting is very primal, connected and so much of what our ancestry was, is, used to be. It is not at all what it is often portrayed as or has sometimes become...more, bigger, faster, trophy, bragging rights. I know the black hog, the one you couldn't take a shot at, made your heart pound like never before. Life, survival, maybe they weren't on the line but you touched something that reminded you of a time when they were on the line. All the best Xander, thanks for bringing me along.
WHAATTT?! You weren't lying in that community post, deff something new! Great content!
15:58 that transition is perfect *edit: that's so inspiring that you made a video other than backcountry or camping but a documentary of real hunting. Another level for the content.
4:18- asks "how can I help" this is the most underrated backwoods tip. Always ask how you can make lighter work, help by gathering firewood, get water and start itn on a boil etc....or just ask. It makes so much less work for your host and they will appreciate it so much! I also camp with sometimes novice folks, it doesnt bother me but i always delegate tasks to them so they are pulling their own weight and I am not doing everything fpr everybody. also teaches what is required to make a fire. Standing dead wood. Not green wood etc. You have to teach people that stuff at first. Not everybody started out in sasquach mode. Love the video. Great editing. Itchin for my next trip.
Oh yes! I hoped you would do this! you're pretty good with the bow
