I would love a follow up in 6 months and a year to see how many are still alive! My houseplants usually live for a short while (4-9 months) before dying. None would have died in the first week of this challenge so I'm curious to see if her brown thumb is actually green over time in keeping all the new plants alive :D

Killing a plant in 5 days would have been quite an achievement actually :-P

Her plants are most likely dead. Adding a 'drainage layer' to the bottom of a cachepot is not gonna work

@@emmathomson2584 Also repotting the same day she bought them but maybe she learns from her mistakes eventually
I would pay close attention to Buttercup's behavior in that tank because that will indicate how safe/comfortable it is for her. The plants above the tank can make it more difficult for oxygen to circulate. Betta fish are tropical fish and also need a water heater to keep their water in the 75F range. When buying plants for her, I would suggest either live plants or silk faux plants. Plastic plants are harsh on betta's fins and can cause serious damage. The plants will also not replace a proper tank cleaning routine. Her water will need at least a 25% change every week/every other week. Betta's can be tricky fish, but taken care of properly, she can live 3+ years depending on how old she was when you bought her.

The plant district looks amazing!
Hey Lucy ! For your new fish make sure to do some online research on what objects are ok to put in Buttercups tank. Most of the time pet store employees don't entirely know what they're talking about and can offer advice and products that can be harmful to fish :(

Aw congrats Lucie. Female betas are the absolute best! They can recognize you from across the room amd enjoy bonding. I had one trained to eat from my fingers, jump out of the water, and swim through a hoop. (keychain ring). Good luck and please keep us posted about the plants. I want to go get a few now, if you can manage it with your job (s) than hopefully I can too. :)
I'd love to see an update video in a month (and more afterwards) to see the progress! I kill every plant I own, so I'd love to see any progress for inspiration! I'm considering bringing plants to my workspace too so this is really inspiring!

Something that m grandfather has inspired me to do is grow cacti. I went to Lowes and picked up all of the cactus and succulent buds that had fallen on the floor. Then I went home, planted them in egg cartons and tin cans, and now, almost a year later, they are all alive and growing well. One o them is even making buds of its own. It’s wonderful to see the greenery, low maintenance, and completely free.

sophie pierzala my mum drowned all of my cacti when I went away for two weeks 😩 I’d had them for years and they were doing so well and now they’re all dead ☹️
I purchase my first plant last month. As in the first one I took the time to research so I didn’t kill it. She needs water once a week and indirect sunlight. Makes me desk feel like a nicer place to sit at. Lucie you are goals right now. I need more plants!

Got my green thumb from my momma=) I was NEVER into gardening but when I moved out at 19yo my mom was like "here you mija" **hands me a huge Jade Pothos & 2 Amaryllis plants** & all I did was water them & they just never died lol a decade later I have a jungle in & outside of my apartment lolol Thanks for sharing!
hoping to see more updates on your plants and buttercup on your instastory soon, lucie!!
I bought a ZZ plant (the real name is long and hard to spell so everyone calls it a ZZ plant) for my apartment, but stupidly forgot that plants need light to survive, so it wilted but I managed to save it and moved it to where it'll have some sunlight and have been nursing it back to health. Fortunately this particular kind of plant is like a cockroach and is almost impossible to kill.

Best Living with Lucie in a while!! I love how genuinely excited she was about this challenge :)
I'm looking at plants right now! Can't believe I've been in my office for over two years and never thought about getting plants
These videos are so wholesome and Lucy is so positive, they’re really nice to watch after a long rough day
Love this series sooooo much! Keep up the good work😘😘😘
I have been growing mint, basil and french marigolds from seeds and they are doing so well! I need to repot the marigolds and the mint as when I repotted the basil it went from tiny leaves to full on massive leaves in like 2 days! I also have aout 5 flowers from the marigolds, I'm so happy.
This is so inspiring! My favourite episode yet. I shall definitely be checking out that podcast.
I love Lucie!!!💓💓
This was so cool! One of my favorite try living with Lucie’s so far :D

Five things you could do and are good for your fish is.... 1. Try to do a fish in cycle it is okay but fish less cycle is better. But since you already got it. 2. Try under water plants . 3. Might wanna get some friend snails to help you with the algea you might grow since it is in front of your window. 4. Might wanna get a heater if it is not reaching 72-75 degrees. 5. Try making diy hideouts Bounus: Do a video of Buttercup.
Yay! I love new episodes! I'm always inspired to try new things 💕

I loved this, so cool!!!
I really needed this video! And I didn't even realize it. I lost my cat about a month ago. She was my baby and passed away from cancer. And I've been so down ever since. But watching this video made me realize I can have more indoor plants now. It has inspired me to fill my space with green things. I only had a few plants before because my cat would chew on them and many indoor plants are poisonous to cats. So thank you for the inspiration. It's a bit of sunshine coming back into my life.

steph won't work for my cat sadly. My youngest one doesn't do it but my older Bengal just can't stop. Doesn't matter where I put it he will eat it unless I put it behind closed doors. My Bengals can jump much higher than most other cats and currently my older boy is sitting on our very high kitchen cupboards.

Wow. The most we had to do was wrap our potted palm trees in nets because when our current ones were little they loved climbing them (toppling them over). Luckily they haven't tried to eat anything except the cat grass we bought them...

I don't think it's normal to buy plants in a big lot like this. So does it matter? I just collected mine over a few years and I probably have about 20. I didn't even buy all of them, I went to an office where my mum works and a succulent was dying. I simply propagated this plant and it ended up with 5 plants and gave a healthy plant back to the office ☺️

Ive tried to buy from The Sill website that she used. All the plants are very expensive.
@ciciwu2090
5 жыл бұрын
It actually doesn't cost a lot. I have had 10 house plants at some point before and it all depends on where you buy your plants and how fancy you want your pots to be. I usually get my plants from a local farmer's market for an average of $4-6 each and they are decent sized plants (4 in pots). I get terracotta pots for about $3-4 each. I spent about $2-3 for 2-lb bags of indoor houseplant soil and about $5 on cactus/succulent mix. I can get about 3 decent plants, all the pots and soil mix for around $25. You just have to look around and explore a bit.
I love these videos soooo much!!!! Love you lucie❤️❤️
