5 Daily Tips for

“How can I prepare for birth?”
I don’t know how many DMs I get with this question. The short answer is enroll in Werk Your Birth :) I will help you go from anxious and overwhelmed with this entire process to fearless, confident and empowered to have a positive birth experience (link is in my bio).
That being said, there are some things we can all do during our #pregnancy daily to prepare our minds and bodies for labor. It is true that your mind and body should be connected in labor to have the experience most of us desire - a positive and smooth one. This starts in pregnancy.
Every part of our body is connected and that should not be overlooked.
Here are a few things you can do daily (or as often as you remember) during pregnancy to prepare for the big day as recommended by one of my faves @spinningbabies (make sure to follow them):
1. Relax your jaw - many of us hold tension here and since your jaw is connected to Ms. Fanny - it’s important we learn how to relax and release so she can be too 😉
2. Neck Rolls - keep the tension out of this part of your body too!
3. Shoulder Stretch - did you know that you need your upper body for labor too? Yep. Being on all 4s can demand shoulder strength (not to mention holding a newborn for extended periods). Nonetheless, don’t forget about upper body stretches.
4. Lunges - lunges are great for so many reasons. First, it helps our body prepare for labor. Second, it can help create more space in the pelvis. Third, it’s an amazing laboring position.
5. Squats - squats are amazing and help our bodies a lot. Doing so can create more space in the pelvis, can help baby engage and can be used during labor in different ways depending on the station of your baby (see my stations video on KZread)
I’ll share more stretches and things you can do to keep your body and muscles loose.
