Good
1.Use your full extension for perfect right straight 2.Use footwork to find range, no leaning 3.Throw with head movement 4.Set up with other punches 5.Retract back to chin

It's amazing how you tackle the exact problems I have with my fighting techniques... every video is on point! I'm gonna use these tips during practice, thanks!
Started watching your videos @fightTIPS and other youtubers for about three years ago and I've been training ever since. Glad to see I was aware of every mistake already.
I appreciate your direct style of explanation, without over-explaining. Thank you sir.
Nice tips. Thank You for the lessons...
I can't wait for my next fight. Been exercising and practicing on the punching bag in the back daily.
Hey man ! Great channel, lot of valuable info. I’ve just started to train again and your videos are helping me a lot to workshop each of my favorite punchs and kicks ! Thanks for the good work ! 😊
Thank you for all the great tips!
Such a great informative video, the pivot while moving with the rear leg makes so much sense rather than keeping it in place and have to cover more distance for the strike.
As always, good video Shane.
thnx for the video.i'm really helpful.waiting to see a video of 5 common overhand right mistakes
Great video ! Minimum talk and straight to the good stuff ! So many dudes just waffle on !
Cool thanks bro . Great advice. 🥊🥊🥊
I love all your "5 common mistakes"! Thanks a lot ;-)
Shane! Great stuff man! Awesome tips and keep up the great work
Thanks Shane, this is really helpful
Thanks man, really wanted this!
i like this explanation.. i find this channel the most reliable.. good work.
Always great, insightful videos Shane. Great channel.
Good break down! Really good 👌👊
Great tips homie
Good advice as usual keep up the good work
One of the best videos in a while
Thank you very much....good one👍👍
First video i've seen, great explanation New sub
learned from these tips great video
Awesome as always
He has such good form!
good stuff Shane! Let's bring right foot forward as we push off with our jab. Bringing the right foot forward and quickly plant and pivot as we deliver the right hand punch.... pivoting, rotating the torso / shoulders, and bending that right knee as we complete the torso "twist" is what we call "sitting down on the punch"......loads of power with that plant and pivot. You offer very good tips!
I love your videos Shane keep me up
Great video shane, please make a video about being more comfortable in your weaker stance
You are amazing and your videos are very good.
I had been watching you videos for a long time i love you videos very much
Very good .. 👊👊
GREAT VIDEO!! 😁
Pls make a video on how to improve your reaction time, i think it would a crazy ability to be able to react quickly to my opponent
Good stuff, thanks.....
Masterpiece love it!
Good job
Hi, I've been watching your videos for years now they're just awesome, do you have any videos on range in a fight, like in and out? anticipating range??
Thanks big bro, i had to relearn this.
Thanks Shane
Very helpful
I like how he teaches not only how but why.
i will be working on this my cross is my major weapon along with overhand shots & if i don't have perfect from with this i will pay for it thanx shane helps alot and keep these boxing & mma specific vids coming in the far future the BJJ vids would be helpfull for most of us will be learning new things for mma and or boxing via you so yeah
As a side note on tip 3, if you lean to avoid a straight counter like Shane did just now you put more weight into the bunch but makes you more open to shovel hooks or upper cuts towards the way you're leaning so keep that guard up
Thank God I found your channel when I did this really helped me with kickboxing. I am a mistake number 1offender still tho. When throwing too close and you hit with your fingers instead of your knuckles heavy bag wins. I'm learning this lesson the hard way but luckily nothing is broke.
Great video. Is there a punch-kick combo compilation video?
@markant9534
6 жыл бұрын
+FutureSequence A punch punch-kick combo would be much harder to do as swiftly as a 1-2 punch combo or even a 3 punch combo.
Really informative, as always! 👊🏼 Actually noticed I'm guilty of some of this ocasionally. Great reminder to re-evaluate the basics you think you have on lock and tend to forget working on! 👌🏼
My Boxing and Muaythai skill are improving since I Subscribe your channel 2 years ago. Than you shane!
love You Shane, i have made quite a progress thanks to yours videos, great job..or jab ;)
Thank you Shane for making this video. I tried the straight cross on my punch pad in the back yard. I moved my head off the centre line as you mentioned and I instantly got a ton of power coming from my shoulder. This is a game changer for me, so thanks again. Also, I've seen many KZread videos on rising elbow uppercut and was wondering if it would be a good follow through from the Thai clinch, since my opponents head would be down and open to the shot. What do you think?
hi Shane Please do a video on correction of knock knees.
I noticed today that I basically never use my cross expecting it to land. I don't think I have ever landed a cross in sparring. I use the lead hand constantly, as well as the rear hook, and sometimes the rear uppercut, but I throw the cross maybe twice a round. Thanks for the video, i'll apply some of these in training to make my cross more comfortable to use.
Thanks for all the informative videos , I was wondering what you think of someone new to striking doing mauy thai and boxing classes in the same week , some of the swadow boxing I ve been doing seems to have given me bad habits in a mauy thai class I recently attend , any info would be much appreciated.
Good vid 👍
At the boxing gym that I go to our coaches taught us a tip to rotate the shot so our pinky is about parallel to the ground, this helps to not hyperextend the elbow. Hope this tip helps you guys too!
Thank you
Great vid shane, especially the part about how to position your arm before the cross. Do you think you could do a video about body shots? i feel that i open my self up for uppercuts and hooks when i go for the hooking bodyshots.

Shane, please make more audio workouts, they help greatly
This was a really good video, thanks! I am personally mostly guilty of 5. mistake, my right arm drops in most cases when I am trying to do 1-2-1-2 or any other combination where I need to my retract my right hand, as a part of a combination. Probably logically, if I just throw 1-2 small combo, I usually don't do that mistake, most probably because I can concentrate enough, due to combo being so short :D I am trying to concentrate harder with each and every training session and enjoy my time learning and advancing!
nice.. i buy this one
Great!
can you teach on how to throw a straight to ensure your shoulder is secure in the socket (dislocation risk for previous dislocators)?
AYYEE. Shane you seem to put out a video when I'm trying to get it down. I want that crisp 1 2.
You are teaching very good But if you explain footwork with jab and cross in slow theme then it will be more useful . Thanks for making such a useful vedio for boxing.
Awesome explanation. My only question being what I'd your setting a looping cross to get them to left hook counter so you can dip and go to the body? Would that be effective or am I foolish for thinking so. Thank you
Shane can you show close ups of bare knuckle fist placement upon the target?
Hey shane! can you do some basic wrestling moves for mma? thanks hope for your reply :)
Awesome technic brother Right cross 😄😄😄.. I learned technic easily by this video... Again thank u 😘💕brother... Love from India🇮🇳
Tus videos son muy buenos :) Saludos desde México!
I reckon we need some vlogs of you and your family Shane. Your videos are great but we want to see more of the man behind the underdogs
awsome stuff how do u throw a right cross to the left side of the jaw around the left lead being both orthodox .throwing the jab first gerrald mccellan was great at this
@fighttips how do u land a lead hook after your straight cross? It seems I'm always too far for my lead hook. (P.s. Love the channel! Been here for about 3 yrs!!)
can you post a video on sidestepping across your opponent with boxing combinations

The best advice I could give (BackYard boxer) is to mirror the instructions. If it says "Right Cross" then you'll do a left cross. And just spend more time doing southpaw

Agreed. If you learn the combo orthodox, switch stances and do it the other way. Then study Marvin Hagler

the front kick tutorial and its different variations please
cool video shane. i know you gotta have a good set up but i also like to throw the lead 2 instead of a jab. It is very effective if the straight is not telegraphed. ali used it against foreman i think.
@luk303

what do u think about a lead straight?
@GokuInfintysaiyan
6 жыл бұрын
When I think of a lead straight I tend to think you mean a weak-handed straight where you take the lead hand and pivot heavy on the front leg to throw a power shot from the jab positioning. But a leading straight would be okay in my opinion, given your straight is something the opponent can't time very well and you combine it with a hook for exiting or a double-jab for range keeping
@luk303
6 жыл бұрын
Year you got it right, i often use the straight to set up a lead hook. But then again i also use it almost like a jab, just the the straight and out. I think conor did that against ivan butchinger aswell
You could make a video where you show a counter to every strike. for example Jab: slip and throw a cross, or something. That would help me in sparring alot
Hey shane i have a question when i srow jab and cross the jab and the cross came
Can you make video about karate in MMA?
Спасибо ждём новых роликов
Sensei Shane, I hope you're well. I wanted to ask you where one can leave comments to ask questions specifically about their own training progress? I didn't want to start an entirely relevant thread for one of your videos. Thank you!
I wanna a video full of kickboxing and MauyThia comps, heavy punching bag please sir. How to fight against someone what should I start with? Kicks or punches? What's the way to end a fight very fast. One on one. Thanks very much boss.
@fightTIPS Shane, when I throw my cross, my fist lands slightly diagonally from my shoulder (e.g. instead of directly in front of my left shoulder because I’m left-handed, it lands in front of my right shoulder, diagonally across my body). How can I correct this?
My gym is about to start a sparring class, I don't have any shin guards or headgear, and not much moola. What would u recommend for some head gear/shin guards for sparring for around 70 in total
1. don't muscle through the bag and jam arm. sting bag, don't hyper extend elbow, cross is long distance move 2. Step in on jab and cross and pivot at same time midair 3. Take head off the center line when crossing, dodge opponent 4. inch elbow and hand closer so you can get there quicker 5. a to b and b to a. no looping, leaves you open to get hit.
