5 College Football Moments I Want to Forget

Спорт

College football is filled with memorable moments, but what are the ones you wish you could forget? Here are the 5 moments I wish I could erase from my mind, Eternal Sunshine-style. What are your picks?
Spoiler warning: my five are Ohio State beating Miami in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, Georgia's blowout of TCU in the 2022 CFP Championship Game, Dennis Dixon's injury at Oregon in the 2007 season, the "Cam-back" in the 2010 Iron Bowl, and the Kick Six in the 2013 Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn.

as a cowboy fan the 2021 big12 championship where baylor stopped us after we had 1st and goal from the 2 yard line and couldn't score. Dezmon Jackson came inches from hitting the pylon on 4th down from the 1, and we probably make the CFP over cincy if he hits the pylon there. Wish I can esclipse that play.

Part 2: here are 5 Arkansas State moments I’d like to “eclipse” in no order really 1.) losing to Nevada in the 2018 Arizona Bowl when stat wise we were the FAR superior team, our Offense couldn’t convert in the Red Zone to save their lives. Finished 8-5 when we were picked to win the Sun Belt in the preseason, returned pretty much our whole Offense and also a preseason potential dark-horse for the NY6. 2.) Losing to 1-10 South Alabama to finish the 2019 regular season. We won our bowl game, but still, lost to a ONE-WIN team. 3.) collapsing in the 2020 season after we beat Kansas State. 4.) Getting beat 73-0 to Oklahoma on National TV to start 2023. Yes, we expected to get blown out but man, did they have something against us? 5.) Losing to Troy in 2017 on our home field. That was for a share for the Sun Belt Conference Championship and it was last second too if I remember correctly.

You seriously have never even SEEN the kick six? Do you even know what it looked like? What way Chris Davis ran? I mean damn. That's dedication lol.

As a Noles fan, my top 3 would be: 1. Jordan Travis' injury and all the CFP snubbing chaos that followed. 2. The 2021 Jacksonville State game (I was there!) 3. The 2015 Georgia Tech game (The "Miracle" on Techwood Drive)

UNC fan - 5. 1997 to fsu 4. Bs onside kick call in acc championship. 3. Playoff hopes ruined by Georgia tech in 2022 (I was there) 2. Losing to 1-5 Virginia and 2-3 Georgia tech in back to back weeks as a top 10 team. 1. Choking a 30-21 lead in the last minute against our biggest rival nc state in 2021

Michigan fan here, I could probably make a top 20 list. But I'll go with 5. 5. 2008 vs Toledo (I was there) 4. 2018 Ohio State 3. App State 2. Trouble with the snap 1. 2016 Ohio State I think it's pretty telling that there's so many bad memories just in my lifetime that the 21 and 22 semis, the orange bowl vs Florida State, and 2013 Penn State didn't even make the cut

PSU fan here. I would say the 2017 blown lead vs OSU, but then I'd be taking away Saquon's opening KR TD (which is too good to take out). Would have to go with: 2020 vs Indiana (Penix was short) 2021 Sean Clifford's injury, which lead to a blown lead at Iowa. The entire season went downhill from that moment. 2021 loss to Illinois in 8OTs. No explanation needed. 2019 loss at Minnesota. That PSU team was damn good but didn't have it that day. 2018 home loss to Michigan St. (I was there) Non-PSU moment would be McKenzie Milton's injury in the War on I-4. Heartbreaking...

I’ll list two schools here, since I root my Alma Mater, Arkansas State, and of course, the Razorbacks. Starting with the Hogs, where do I start?! I could write a book! 1.) 2012 loss to UL-Monroe giving up a 28-7 lead. 2.) the 2022 season 3.) losing to Auburn, LSU, & Missouri thanks to questionable officiating during the 2020 season. 4.) finding creative ways to lose to Texas A&M since the Manziel years. 5.) and lastly, two words…..Chad Morris.

I dont think any of my worst sports moments are CFB tbh. Steven Gerrard's slip in 2014 was heartbreaking, one of the best soccer players of his time denied the title due to just bad luck. Irelands last game against England in the rugby. Lost due to a drop goal, we almost went back to back Grand Slams. Showing my age but Hillsborough. I wish the event never even happened.

@@cfblifer without a doubt. It was also heartbreaking because it ultimately killed alot of the tradition and love in the game of soccer in England, its not like the NFL, overly corperate and dead. You gotta go to lower leagues to find the passion that you find in CFB. Also the 96 still deserve justice

Here's some of mine: 2014 Clemson loss @ Georgia Tech 2021 Clemson loss @ NC State Ohio State missed FG vs. Georgia in the Peach Bowl Georgia vs. TCU in the National Championship But my #1 by a mile is the 2023 Clemson loss @ Duke. I saw my grandfather in Columbia earlier that day, but I left early so that I could catch the game in time back home. Of course, we got blown out and embarassed, and it absolutely wasn't worth rushing home to watch. He died a month later, and that Labor Day we lost to Duke ended up being the last time I ever saw him. That one made me really question my relationship with the sport more than any other moment probably ever could or will. Plus, it set the tone for a really negative season among Clemson fans, it ended up being really frustrating to hear the complaints week after week living in upstate SC.

In the 2003 NC game, had the refs not called Chris Gamble out of bounds with 2 minutes left in the 4th (which he wasn’t out), Miami wouldn’t have even gotten the ball back to tie the game and send it to OT. Was it DPI? Maybe not. But if the refs were perfect, Ohio State wins anyways.

@@cfblifer well it's because I'm a Purdue fan and we've gotten absolutely destroyed. We were down 56-7 to Auburn at the half in 2018 and it only ended up being 63-7 but they could've put 100 on us. I don't remember what the LSU game was 2022 but it got really bad. I'm primarily a Purdue basketball fan so these games aren't really the games that are haunting me but it's pretty miserable for your team to just get beaten down so handially

Please god wipe Illinois Iowa 2018 (63-0 and the only time I've ever left an Illinois game early), Illinois Purdue '23 (44-19, do i need to explain) and Illinois Purdue '22 (loss cost us the B1G West) from my memory. I would say the 2008 Rose Bowl but I was 5 and barely remember it, 49-17 was BAD though
