Tasty was far from the first to put mayonnaise in a cake. I've found cake recipes going back decades that call for mayonnaise, albeit usually with no explanation whatsoever.

Idk Anymore You cannot taste the mayonnaise. It is a substitute for eggs/oil, plus it makes the cake more moist. You are unable to taste it.

I guess alcohol evaporates due to high temperature anyway. My mom uses vodka for pastries, and they become more crunchy and don't smell or taste like alcohol at all

It helps get a good design (if you want one) and to coat it COMPLETELY. If you don’t use enough and make a new batch to top it off it doesn’t give the “mirror” look

Mayonnaise is mainly oil and egg yolks. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it in a chocolate cake, it makes the cakes really tender and moist.

Idk about the last one😂😁hahahaha its good but its crazy sweet overload hahaha
