Slightly off topic question but I got into Oxford a couple weeks ago for maths and philosophy and I'm super torn between there and Warwick, and I was just wondering if you could tell me some of the best/worst things about warwick and why you're going to Cambridge instead? Thank you for the inspiring videos as ever :))

hi! many congratulations on both your offers! i applied to cambridge before i started at warwick because of ucas timings - i was perfectly happy at warwick, but i couldn't turn down the cambridge offer once i had it. i think the best thing about warwick academically is there there are loads of contact hours - for maths i had 3 lectures per week per module plus 3-4 hours of supervisions/tutorials (small group meetings with a masters student/member of staff). also all the lecturers are really friendly and there's loads of support for things you find difficult, but also further problems if you're not challenged enough. another plus is that everything is on campus so it's quick to get to things and lots of the facilities are new and nice. also generally people are super lovely! something that is not so great is the nightlife (although i imagine oxford won't be much better?) - you have to take a half hour bus to any decent club and they're small. also, probably worth considering if you want to go to a campus or city uni because it is veryyy campus vibes

hi! i agree 3a is a really harsh paper. i think, because they can literally ask you anything, the best thing you can do is make sure that you really understand all of the content (focus on the why). they'll likely ask about things that look completely different to the practicals you've learnt about, so if you just try and regurgitate information you probably won't score too highly. that being said, do make sure to memorise all of the required practicals since theyre 'free' marks if one of them does come up exactly as is. definitely don't panic though when you open the paper and see a load of random experiments - try and think about which topics you're being tested on, then which practicals might be similar as a starting point to get you thinking in the right direction. grade boundaries are crazy low for 3.a. for a reason :p

i did take compsci at gcse but honestly i wouldn't worry if you didn't it'll just take you a bit longer to memorise stuff. conceptually the gcse concepts aren't too tough i'm sure you can get them under control :p

@@yanr4n ok thanks im thinking of doing the exact same a levels that you did and im predicted all 8s and 9s so I hope I get good results. Ive been revising consistently, but I struggle finding the motivation to revise essay based subjects because i dont enjoybthem and find them quite boring
