I would encourage everyone out there to grow a garden, make it your whole yard, if you need to. If you can afford drip technology, you can massively cut down on water costs with that. If you can get water for free, awesome! Potatoes, grains, and Jerusalem artichokes are great for storing for many months (Jerusalem artichokes store best right in the ground). And you may be able to raise your own meat or eggs or both with ducks and chickens and geese, or rabbits and guinea pigs (for meat). Some rabbits can be raised for fur. For those who are looking for other ways to cut costs, you can make laundry detergent using English Ivy (or any ivy plant in the Hedera genus), and it works quite well, however, it will discolor your whites, so you may want to wash whites separately, with laundry detergent, and use English Ivy detergent only for colors. If you are sensitive to English Ivy, you can also use soapwort (either saponaria officinalis, or saponaria ocymoides), or horse chestnuts. Horse chestnuts or English Ivy are probably the easiest to use, because you can quarter and dry Horse Chestnuts, throw the dried pieces in a jar, and then use a small handful in a bag. That small handful should last 3 or 4 washings. Ivy needs to be boiled for 30 minutes (about 40 large leaves to a quart), strained, and then the strained juice can be used by the 1/4-1/2 cup for laundry. Soapwort can be dried and used in small handfuls. Ivy detergent and soapwort can be used to wash hands. Ivy detergent can also be used to wash hair (so can soapwort, but it might be a little more difficult). Finally, Stinging nettles, in addition to being medicinal, can also be harvested for fibers, and the fibers spun to make clothing. A drop spindle can be easily homemade. May the Lord God bless you all abundantly, either with knowledge leading to salvation, or with peace for your hearts, and provision for your daily needs.

Keep it up, like the format and the help for folks struggling with grocery prices, and/or cooking in general.
