My longest hit with a rifle is 700m with a 3.4 magnification (5.56), I could hardly see the damn target ^^ Skill is important, but the right tool for the job makes it a hell of a lot easier.

This so cool, this is what i would love to have a go at, i guess ive been watching shooter too much. But honestly there is nothing like this in england as far as i know. My friend used to live in NC, and he/we played lacrosse for england and he had a scholarship at 16, were now 50 lol. He never came back here really. But when i was over the pond we had great fun up and down between baltimore and going deep south as he was doing a history degree back then and south carolina obviously is a very historic place, used to go and spend time in Charleston, go on yorktown, eat great food, had a t bone for breakfast in charleston once, just because we could. Still miss that way of life, wouldn't swap my kids or family for anything, but i would up root in a second to live in the states. enjoy your rifles fellas, its great fun for me to watch. cheers..

Wait, they don't have any rifle/gun ranges in England?? I was under the impression you could own bolt action/lever action/etc rifles in England. My father in law is a Englishman living in the states and he told me you could also own .22 semi-auto rifles. Not exactly an AR-15, but technically shouldn't you be able to buy yourself a decent bolt-action rifle in a caliber like 5.56 or .308 (7.62x51 Nato)? At least then you could probably do some shooting.

@@getmeoutofsanfrancisco9917 Yes, they do have rifle ranges in England, just very few ranges where you can do long distance shooting (600+ yards), and I don't even know if there is any public range of a mile long anywhere in England. All the ultra long distance shooting is done in Scotland, on private property. The Extreme Long Range Shooters (ELRS) club is Dutch, but they are also open to members from other Western-European countries. They practice and do competitions at ranges of 1.600-3.200 meters (1-2 mile), with 1000 yards being the very minimum.

@@pieterveenders9793 There are at least a couple of 1 mile ranges in the UK, and I believe there's a 2-miler up in Scotland. Plenty of ~1000-yard options around too.

I'm going tomorrow to have threads cut for my new brake I picked up, should settle'er down a bit. Nice! I bought a Tikka Tac A1 in 6.5 CM about a month ago and only have 150 rounds through her sofar but she is shooting great. Only shot 300m sofar, there are no longer ranges here sadly. Shooting 123gr Lapua Scenar factory loads and saving the cases to start hand loading next year. The very first 3 shots I fired was a single hole, 3mm spread at 50m, I almost wet my pants.. Sadly 3-round groups don't really count, but I was doing break-in and only fired 3 rounds at a time. The last 30 rounds of the 150 I shot so far were 10-round groups and the best one of those three groups measured 0.57 MOA at 100m(using Ballistic-X app, and verified the spread with a digital caliper). Now, I'm a beginner shooter when it comes to precision shooting so that has room to improve, and hopefully even some more to gain with hand loads when I get into that. But I can say with moderate comfort now that my Tikka is more than likely a sub 1/2 MOA rifle, straight from the factory. And as soon as I find a piece of land suitable for some long range shooting, and get approval from the landowner, I will take this beauty of a gun to let her stretch her legs a bit, and me get into learning to read the wind. 😁

Ok guys, I'm new to PRS and have a Q doing my reloads. I know that this is not the place, but I'm going to the range this weekend and need to know. I'm shooting a .243 Win and shooting a 90gr Branes bullet. Q? Can my OAL be greater then spec. I don't have the spec with me, but I was trying to shoot 40 thousand's of the lands & groves and my OAL is over spec. Is this an issue? I'm shooting an 1966 Mossberg 800 BV in 243 Win and my Dad shot .5 groups before going to Sundance for Pronghorn. You won't believe that he used a Tasco Inertial 6-18 scope and got one at 500 + yards. He was so proud and I would like get it shooting like that again. I have all of his reloading equipment and some new stuff. So my question is, can I shoot over the OAL? As long as my projectile is off the lands & groves?
