The hinge allows the gate to lie completely flat inside the trailer, so if you wanted to put something 12 foot long like a carpet roll you can. That was the reason I went with this brand as opposed to others. Its a very well thought out trailer.

I wanted to avoid that problem on my trailer so I flipped my trailer ball over so the trailer sits more higher on my truck which makes the tailgate sit more even. Now my hinges aren't nothing like yours but I didn't want to chance it. Never had a problem loading my mower. Just thought it my be a suggestion to help you out.

If you raised the ball on your hitch it would drop the back of the trailer down and make that angle not as aggressive or if you just put a piece of wood under where the gate hits the ground lifting the ramp off the ground a couple inches it might make you have enough clearance not to scrape on the hinge

Is it difficult to move it around by hand? Wanting to purchase one to tow behind a fifth wheel so I want something thats easy to pick up the tongue and maneuver.

It is a bit tough to move around. That is one reason that I put the spare tire near the rear.

How wide is that trailer if you measure from the outside of the wheel fenders? . Overall width

I fit a lawn tractor with a grass catcher, and a walk-behind. I can't say about those other things. As you see in the description - 5 1/2' wide and 10 feet long.
