After being told about the lug nuts possibly being backwards, I looked at the wheels and they are in fact backwards and they are now corrected! Thanks everyone for the help and advice! Enjoy the video!!!

Bought my aluminum 5.5 x 10 with P.T. wood floor from Tractor Supply on sale last summer. Came with big tires & wheels like you paid extra for. It was only 2 months old, from the factory in VA. I put a couple of coats of linseed oil on the wooden deck. Will probably repeat that each year.

Is it practical to add 1" 1/2 wheel spacers to a 5x3 trailer with 33" offroad tires ? I need clearance from the tire width, but how safe in your opinion

Check at the 7:40 mark. Pretty sure you’re lug nuts are on backwards. I torque mine to 100 ft/lbs. Not sure how important that is without rotors. Generally speaking, you don’t want to over tighten the lugnuts on your car to prevent warping the rotors.

Actually , research to find out the exact torque settings. You can stretch the lugs and they will break later. My mechanic approached Americas Tire with that fact. They now hand torque all of the wheels

What was the benefit of changing tires? Just that they were old or did it upgrade the weight limit?

Do you have a link to the specific wheels and tires you got from etrailer? I bought a Lowe’s 5x8 trailer and it has 12” and I want to upgrade to a 13” but I want to make sure I buy wheels and tires that fit. Thanks

I have a 2018 Carry on 5x8 trailer just like yours. want to upgrade the wheels like you did. Was wondering if the trailer comes on a 4" Center hub x 5 lugs or a 4.5" Center hub X 5 lugs. Have looked for specs but can not find the information. If I can measure it, do you measure across the center hub on the wheel to find it?

Looking good . You're right about torqueing the tires . I would have used the impact gun to put the nuts on so far and then used the wrench to tighten them up . Just incase the impact put them on too tight and having a hard time taking the nuts off if you get a flat . Keep 1 tire for a spare . You never know eh . Free shipping . Can't complain about that . I know you talked about saving money but get a dolly jack . Great for jacking up the truck , trailer and what else you want to . I got one when I got my first truck many years ago . Wasn't going to deal with a baby jack for my truck . I live in snow country so I change over my tires twice a year . Have it over 30 years and still works great .

where those 12" tires and wheels on before? the new ones look bigger which I would prefer as well. I was just given a Lowes trailer which has the 12" on it.

Can't be absolutely sure from the video, but take a minute to check the lugs to be sure you put the conical seat of the lug against the wheel. I won't want you to have an issue going down the road with all your gear on the trailer.

I found the jack in our Ford 500 has a screw rod with a bolt head, rather than a hook eye. The bolt head is the same size as a standard lug nut. So with my impact driver and socket, Presto!! I now have an electric jack, that lets me effortlessly raise a car or trailer for a quick wheel change.

Save the better tire for a spare.

An expensive trailer, truck, and equipment, fancy uniforms = expensive lawn job. I built my lawn business with an old rusty truck, used equipment, bib overalls and orange t shirt(my uniform) Worked a full time job warehouse/truck driver 5am-1:30pm drove home and mowed 30 yards per week! Did a premium job for a premium price, never do a hack job (cut and run no trimming of blow off) which makes people think you do sloppy work. Never hired anyone (no workmen’s comp.less damaged equipment.no hand holding).made more money per year than a friend with a 2 two men crews, and he was always fixing equipment or covering for someone and listening to excuses! Once you mow and rejuvenate a yard the neighbors notice and you pick up a few more! I had a few neighborhoods that I mowed 4-5 yards next to each other. Really nice to park your trailer once mow, trim, blow 5 small yards and take in $200+ in an evening. Also working in the evening people see you working week after week (on time) they either stop you or leave a note to call them. Also had insurance, paid tax on income(now I’m retired social security checks) Also helped older customers stay in their homes longer (helped them with odd jobs on rainy days)

You put the lug nuts on backwards, the conical beveled part of the lug should be touching the wheel, not the flat part of the lug. Just FYI

The old tires weren’t in great condition so we decided not to keep them. I will purchase a spare and purchase a spare tire rack for those worst case scenarios

I have a "Lowe's" brand 5'x8' wire mesh floor utility trailer and I want to do this to it.... Put real tires and wheels on it. The little originals might be good for spare tires but not for long freeway hauls.

@@ericherrera6850 They are 12" and remind me of the little space saver spare tires that come with cars these days... can't go over 55mph and not over 100 miles. The rubber is small depth It is said that a 1992 Ford Ranger rims will fit this trailer.. I will have to find some used but is good shape rims and put new treads on them and see.

$5 CAN OF SPRAY PAINT GOES ALONG WAY BROTHER.

I would be hesitant to use 13-inch tires on any application. If you check out the load range . . . normally, they're pretty lightweight. I expect, in a professional situation, you may load your trailer more heavily than you expect. 14-inch tires are readily available in heavier load ranges. The other thing about 13-inch tires is that they tend to have a very low speed rating . . . like 50mph or 55mph. So, if you get on the highway, you could easily blow one. I had that happen on a travel trailer, on the first camping trip. I replaced all 4+spare with 14-inch tires, with a higher speed rating. I could not give away the remaining almost-new 13-inch tires. Really, I could not give them away to the local trailer dealers. My opinion - 13-inch trailer tires exist as a cheap way to get trailers off the lot, keeping the purchase price down.

Paint your garage interior , you will feel much better about being in that space.

These trailers are super light, so i wouldn't stress out about uow he jacked it up... We're talking like 200lbs max each side with the tongue on the ground

I screwed up and hit the wrong place but what I was going to say is always jack up high enough so you don't have to get under a vehicle that has not got a tire or jack stand under it to jack it up more.
