I like it, but living in Canada, I am concerned about thermal bridging given that it is entirely aluminum and steel directly from the van body all the way under the bed. I’m afraid it will serve as a conduit to draw all that heat straight out to the metal skin of the van.

I think it’s worthwhile to make a distinction between “the bed” (as is always stated in this vid) and the bed *platform.* Most people probably don’t sleep on the bare (hard) wood platform. So to say “all you have to do...” to take the bed down is remove the platform, which admittedly takes seconds, is slightly misleading. Taking down bedDING and storing it should be part of the complete picture. Props for a well-built and ingenious platform tho.

I don't think this was well designed at all. From what I understood it is to be used in those van convertions with kitchen, storage and sometimes bathroom area. How do you expect people to remove the matress, 3 huge slab of wood and the screws and brackets out of the way with such a limited space left? You have maybe between 50/70cm wide of space to walk freely - a walkway between the front and the back of the van. And most people with a fixed bed have storage underneath it.
