    Young Baily is a Paladin, to be sure. He took his lumps without a whine, and drove the most challenging rig of the bunch, with that trailer in tow. I know it was RnD for the trailer, but I think we will see that Ranger upgraded big time from his experiences on this trip. Well done everyone, that was some wonderful madness!

    Driving tip: One from a Kalahari farmer I knew -When driving on soft sand, when you brake to a stop a small mound of sand builds up in front of your tyres. When pulling off this creates extra resistance and may cause you to dig in. so reverse back a meter and pull off from there.

    Driving tip: listen to your 4wd. If it doesn't feel like it usually does or makes a weird sound after a big flex or drop, take the time to source it out so that you don't end up penniless and a broken car. as well as this, if you don't feel confident with your own driving ability or skills for a new track or line, follow someone in who has done it before and learn from experience

    When you have time a reverse sear is pretty good...bring up to temp in foil then sear in a full temp pan. Time in foil depends on how you like it cooked inside. If I'm feeling lazy I do the multi flip. My steak is wild Fallow Venison, it has been my only meat for the last 13yrs, I have buggered up many steaks in that time, after ignoring Joe Rogan for a while I tried the reverse sear, now I have mates doing it too...and loving it.

    Awesome trip as usual ya'll!!! I prefer the single flip on an expanded stainless grill where the flame can touch my steak. Gets that nice char along with that wonderful flame kissed flavor. I have however inadvertently tried the "dirty steak". I accidentally dropped a prime cut onto the coals which unfortunately was also full of sand. Me not wanting to waste a good piece of meat, I ate it anyway. Think I not only gave the old ivories a scrub, my colon got a good sand blasting as well lol. Cheers mates!!

    Mate! Loved the latest Cape York in the old farm-truck. Awesome! A side point. Can the camera crew give us some ideas of how they get such great aerial shots. What filters do they use on their drones to get the water to stand out in such great colours. Or is it all done later in the studio? My aerial footage seems drab compared to theirs. All of us who own and use drones would really appreciate some tips on how to get better and more colourful footage. Thanks. Mike.

  • @felixgottesburen7294

    @felixgottesburen7294

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@geraldroberts1184 Well simply put, the way the brade disk looks I would not replace it at that point. Instead I would only replace the brakepads and safe some money as brake disks are usually way more expensive and lasting than the pads (eg: my 2018 Hilux ~32€ for the brakepads vs 102€ for the disks All of those being aftermarket parts, shipping excluded). And if you are somewhat unlucky and damage the caliper you either have to rebuild it, which is one hell of an anoying job to be doing, or you need to get a new one, which is gonna cost you quit a bit (~178€ for an aftermarket caliper on my Luxy). Also what @Travis Mcalister said about possibly loosing fluid is correct. But the possible damage does not even stop there. Worst damage in such a scenario that I have seen so far was on a Hilux used in the mining industry. Shit got so hot it practically cooked the wheelbearing and steel rim. Whilst the rim only shed its paint, the bearing leaked quite a lot of grease and had to be replaced. So at the end of the day a relatively small trackside repair saves you quite some money. Even more so if you want to use oem parts and/or do not do repairs yourself.
