DROWNED 4WD! Our most insane recovery ever - did we rescue it? Moreton Island like you’ve never seen
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When you think Moreton Island in Queensland, you think sun, surf, beach 4WDing, and great campsites - you DON'T think insane recoveries! When the boys landed on the beach and got word of a drowned 4WD in need of help - this trip changed in a big way.

In the convoy there's Rocket Rod and his son Ash in their beast of a 79 Series, Darren Vassie in the 200 Series he built for customer Mark, Anthony in his Chopped Nissan GU Patrol towing the Opus camper trailer, and Russel from Continental Tyres in his Mitsubishi Triton.

To anyone watching who owns a 4WD - just think how heartbreaking this would be for your 4WD. Mistakes happen and it's gut-wrenching to see a bloke's pride and joy go like this. Very lucky nobody was hurt - stay safe out there legends and take it easy!

My worst bog would be taking my newly completed 6.5L supercharged GU out into the Vic high country.. I lost traction on a sleep incline, ended up going over the edge ( luckily still on my wheels) and down into the creek..way below.. With my GU hung up on a huge log and teetering off yet another ledge it threatened to roll into the creek.. had 2X 80 series cruisers 1x 105 series and a dmax with winches all attached and still couldn’t move the big girl. Luckily I knew “a mate” who had a 6x6 Recvery Specialised Unimog who pushed through the scrub and had enough power to pluck me from the creek and back onto the tracks.. It took us 3 days.....

Was on an expedition on iceland a few years ago, one of the trucks in the convoy went through the ice so only the roofrack was visible above water. Driver and passenger made it out ok. Had to wait two days to get the rigs and gear to try and get it out of the water again, which ofc meant that the ice had frozen shut above it and it had gotten colder so the ice was pretty thick. So there we were with chainsaws sawing away at the ice frozen around the roofrack trying not to damage the truck while nervous as heck about the big rig that was gonna pull it out, cuz that was also out on the ice. Long story short, got the sucker out, was fresh water so it'll buff out.

My first and probably worst bog was on a lake near kosciusko national park With no experience in off road driving I was following my mate he was in a Mazda 6 and i was in my patrol Surface seemed dry as we were driving around the lake I felt my patrol loose power and saw my mate stop we got out and realised we were in deep mud Found a few blokes camping came and helped us get out. Promised them a few slabs. The next day we went to the nearest town and delivered two slabs. Shout out to those 2 fellas absolute legends.

A bunch of us went on a 4x4 trip to the high country years ago, came across a single 4x4, turns out it was a guy and his g/f in his 4x4 ute, he had all the recovery gear but no idea how to use it. He was hopelessly bogged and there is no trees to winch off up there, he had the ground anchor out but had unraveled all of the winch rope so none of it remained on the winch drum and his truck had a dead battery so he couldn't start the engine. We came across him trying to dig himself out from the bog.
Now that’s what you call a recovery! Well done boys, huge team effort!✊✊✊
Man, I'd kill to go on a trip with you guys! 4wheelin there would be absolutely mind blowing!
In south Florida. I was 7 years old. Me and my old man was on his swamp buggy out in the grass swamps and hit a sink whole. The back passenger wheel sunk to the axle. The torque snapped the drive shaft. The buggy now only front wheel drive and nothing to winch to for miles. 4 inches of water, gators, snakes. My old man took out one of the bucket seats and tied a winch to it it and walked it out about 50 foot or so. He stuck it in the soft ground head first like a anchore. We had to reset a bunch. But it eventually worked. I was up on the buggy with the 308. Keeping an eye out for gators. Best memory of my old man.
I once recovered a beer from my friends truck that got stuck in a lake at the boat launch. Top that one boys

Hell of a great video. Many years ago I got my 1980 4x4 Bronco stuck in a mud hole. Stepped out of the truck and went half way up to my ass in mud. Took a one ton 4x4 and a great big 4x4 tractor, in unison to pull me out. It was a bit iffy for awhile. Found out later that a D8 Cat used to pull the company trucks through that same hole. It's hard top find those old reliable trucks up here now. I liked and subscribed so I can relive my younger years from this comfortable chair. Cheers, Terry
Was with a mate a bit over 10 years ago who was on the beach at Tin Can Bay in his lowered Commodore wagon. Only had 3 hubcaps on his car cause that's all he could afford. Got bogged as the tide was coming in fast. We were trying to dig him out and all the oldies who were well into retirement pulled out the camp chairs and a coldie in front of their RVs and were enjoying the show. Had to ask half a dozen people before someone agreed to help him out. Water was just seeping into the back doors. Ahhh memories...

My best bog was in 1987 at Azusa Canyon California when I wheelied my 1982 Honda Cr125 across the river that was motorcycle deep and went underwater with my bike. I kicked it over for a month after DOING NO REPAIRS (14-year old lad I was) and it ran fine again.
Another awesome adventure!! Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
Rockets laugh is so infectious, seems like a champion bloke
been waiting for this episode for ages, cant wait to watch it.
Great recovery. I remember once in Iceland we had this kind of recovery. The bottom of the sea was fine stones and slippery, so we used the ramps and strapped them fixed onto the wheels, pressed the brakes and let the car slide over the bottom untill it was out. It looked as if it was wearking skies
This is great content boys! Love it.. what a gem of a channel.. hooked on as I develop a keen interest in 4WDs!! Love it
Hell yeah brother from USA I wait all month to watch the amazing work and trips y'all have planned for us veiwers thanks and can't wait to see the next vids.
Worst bog/recovery I ran into was at bribie island, It was about 8pm driving back home with my brotha and some mates when we saw a jeep that got caught in the surf in high tide. Got out to check on the guy first then got to recovering the vehicle. We went to winch it out but the thing was stuck in park alongside the suction of the car in the sand. So we got inside the vehicle to try force the car into neutral. After dealing with that I went to snatch the car to break the suction then my brotha winched it out from there. The bloke was very grateful. Was well over a 2/3 hour rescue to memory but saying that we found him fairly early so maybe the car was recoverable never got that part of the story though.

To all of you on the crew, you really touch my heart, and my abs with the laughs, can't get enough of the shenanigans with you bunch 😂😂😂, my next trip I'll be making sure I've got a few spare zip ties 😂😂😂 Brilliant vid fellas ❤️❤️❤️
Me and dad up in Darwin helped his work mate pull out his 75 series Ute and a 78 series troopie out of thigh deep mud flat, with an incoming tide and in prime croc territory. Both had spent the night fully under water and had settled into the mud right down to almost the side steps. We had over 100metres of snatch strap linked together, using a mangrove tree as pulley block and soft sand was the only “solid” ground to snatch off. We managed to pull both out. The 75 drove home and the 78 had to wait on the sand for a tilt tray.
