That’s because it was back in 2015

its crazy because now they’re so much more accurate and sophisticated, every self checkout has cameras and ai built into them now and its become a quick and speedy process

Walmart in Silvis, IL just got a remodel with new self checkouts! We had them in the Moline Walmart for about a couple years now. I remember when Kmart in Moline, IL had self-checkouts several years ago, and they only had them for a couple months because everybody was afraid of them! I've also seen self-checkouts at our local Jewel-Osco, Lowe's, and Sam's Club.

Yeah and what's sad is walmart was running on windows embeed POS ready 2009 point of sale point of service form machines like those now they upgraded then to windows embeded POS 7 witch is already out of support I wonder if they will start using windows 10 or Linux like what lowes does

if you look closely at the animations on the screen you'll notice that the woman inserts euros, the screen is displayed (in the animation) in US$

if a bill is wrinkled a bit it spits the money out fast to the floor

I don't press start i just scan and pay cash and don't tell it how i want to pay😄It gets it all right by itself😆

The self checkouts in the store in which I work is always having issues, one of them has been shut off for several weeks, 3 of them take credit cards only and another takes cash only, and then you get people wanting to get about 50 items at these things

I don't mind people using the Self Checkout at all no matter how much stuff they get they just need to know how to use the machines so that they don't take too long when trying to use the machine.

you scanned the juice twice and the grapes have a PLU. you place the grapes on the scale then press key in code then type in the PLU code

@@carwashslayer4235 There is a PLU code on bags of grapes. It's usually a 4 digit code on the bag. You place the grapes on the scale which is the same place you scan. Then you press product look up and press in the PLU code. If you're not sure. The people working the self checkout area will be more than happy to assist you if you ask for assistance

Self checkouts are nice if you don't get caught behind people that struggle to use them. My Walmart nearest me interestingly doesn't have a self-checkout but the Target nearest me does.

saxman112 No! Self check outs are outdated. The best way is to just scan your item bar code with your smartphone using the Walmart app. It will charge your credit card once you complete your shopping. Just walk out the store with no interaction with check out lines! It will display a virtual receipt to show any Walmart employee proof of purchase.

don't know what the old ones looked like but that looks like what had where i am for years. weird it did that with grapes. there is a scale built into them and it should tell you to put on the scale and wait. always mute these things too when use them at Walmart or kroger here. don't need to hear it talk to me all the time.

the self checkouts at my employer have scales. produce can be weighed there. my employer dispenses change above and the right of the scanner.

So the items you bought are Krave Cereal, Baguette, Juice, Headphones, Grapes, Chicken Breasts, and Pastrami. am I right or wrong?

at my employer the self scan lets you type item numbers. does walmart allow that?

Yep. Problem is these items are inconsistent with accepting a bar code, the item number, and whether or not they need to be weighed.

+SchindlerHaughton Nope,. Wasn't aware, nor did it detect anything wrong either (a missing bottle should easily have flagged the system). If the beep was a little louder and didn't blend into everything around it.....

I'm sorry that happened but, for future shopping trips I thought I'd mention that if I remember correctly there should be a way to cancel an item(s) especially ones you didn't intend to be charged for twice either by means of pressing a button or if not then by asking the self checkout clerk at the podium and then going from there :). However, I can understand that sometimes if one is not looking at the screen while scanning the sound of the scanner could in fact get drowned out.

Wallymart has its own scam going against its shoppers. Every time I go through the self-checkout stands, the machines ALWAYS fail on me and I have to wait for a "REAL" wallymart person to come and enter her password so I can continue on scanning the rest of my cart and go home. Why wallymart likes fucking with people I don't know but after I complained to corporate, the problem has very magically vanished...for me...

that's a definite issue since some people are known to do that but they hope that by having a cashier watch over the stations that are nearby that it might deter a criminal but those Self Checkout cashiers have to watch 4 different Self Checkout stations so if someone wanted to it'd be really easy to take advantage of it.

Here in North Carolina, USA, there is security camera's above the self checkout or right on the self checkout (facing toward the scanner)

dont they have barrier alarms at the exit of the store which goes off when something tagged or hasnt been purchased goes through? maybe thats just in the UK and possibly the rest of europe but idk.

@@wclifton968gameplaystutorials yes... I have seen some stores get those gates and at mine there's sensormatic EAS alarms that will go off if it detects items that have a security tag on it
