@@kflats 15 minute break, woohooo!! considering there is always a line of customers and if you want to buy something to eat or drink for yourself then thats 5 minutes of your break which leaves you with 10 minutes (1 minute each way to reach the breakroom leaves you with 8 minutes) 8 minutes to take a break eat and drink and go to toilet. yea sounds maybe a little bit worse than a slave

To avoid the short change scam. NEVER hand over the bill until you verify the amount of ones they give you

The scam I have encountered is where a customer tries to pay with a much larger bill (ie. paying for $5 item with a $50 or $100 bill) and waits until you hand over their change before 'realizing' that they had a smaller bill all along and then insisting on exchanging the smaller bill for the larger one while not offering back the change you already gave them. I had someone try it on me and they tried to brush passed returning the change they were given. I also knew some unexperienced cashiers who got tricked by it. Usually, they couple it with attempting it when the store is very busy so that the cashiers are rushed. It doesn't sound like it would work, but it is more effective than it is. The scam in the video works in the first place because the USA is about the only country that has currency that is all the same color.

I’m a Stop and Shop cashier currently. We’re not allowed to make quick change. Unless if someone pays with say a $100 bill we’re not allowed to break it into smaller bills.

I have taken college courses in business finance, made summa cum laude on my degree and I still got scammed so many times at the register. So thankful for a front end manager who was coordinating with the back room prep departments decided to put me in cut produce instead. I can make those fresh cut fruits and vegetables people love, I can use knives, and I get to use my wireless earbud to listen to Music or podcasts while I work. Much less stressful and far more rewarding to make product instead of ringing up people's items. I feel bad for cashiers now.... I was going to quit three weeks in but that front end manager saved me from quitting and helped out a department that needed a quality worker.

Foot lettuce in produce dept.

When I worked in a grocery store I never rang. I only packed out doing grocery diary and frozen. I also unloaded trucks and made bales when needed. I still work as one of the vendors that packs out in grocery stores. I live on Long Island in New York so Stop and Shop is one of our biggest chains on our island.

Almost stop and shop has a citizens bank. I worked at the bristol branch and now work in Newport Because they needed soneone to do cut produce there. If you see a stop and shop, know you can find a citizens bank or citizens bank kiosks in store.

Don’t we just avoid the situation at 5:30 by just checking how much she gives you and say she gave you 9

At 5:12 didn't she enter with 10 and leave with 20 instead of 20 and 30 like it says in the end?

Miracle grow should have been put in it's own plastic bag before being put in the paper.

It's kinda baffling that a Dutch company would follow the exploitative and dehumanizing practices of American corporations and not have seats available for their cashiers. It's disgusting really...

Hey Stop & Shop! .......have you ever received foreign currency? would this require the cashier to have knowledge of foreign currency and counterfeit reserve notes? or are your transactions more using credit, debit, and SNAP cards? thanks, one of many reasons why I don't want to be a cashier is because of possible scams and how to relate to them. I could deal with it if I had to, which I have done as a cashier.

Our company needs cameras to check bob. A lot of the baggers at our company don't help the cashiers with that.

The amount of things I got wrong on my 3rd day. I will probably get fired very soon. ☹️

We almost all pay by card here, problem solved. Changing is only allowed at ONE register at the info counter. Problem solved.
