Honestly, it's small towns like this one what attracts me more about Japan. Sure, visiting Tokyo might be fun but this, this is exactly the place I dream of being.

I feel like Kamakura is a city more than a small town. But its extremely nice, Very rich area. So many Americans though.

@@agentepolaris4914 I think what this interaction points to is a lot of Japanese city's ability to maintain a "small town" feel in a city with nearly 175k people, which is awesome. My guess is that, as an American, our city's dense, car centric infrastructure makes the city itself feel unwelcoming. Certainly some Japanese city's are like this too, but to a lesser degree I think. Outside western city's, it's easier to exist as a pedestrian. You can walk places, there are numerous third places, infrastructure is well built keeps the individual experience in mind. Things like that can work to make a big city feel small, welcoming, and accessible.

They're a bit overrated tbh
Japan's architecture is so satisfying to watch, almost all buildings are distinct and I love their family cars parked outside and how each building is connected to the pavement and street flawlessly.

I completely agree! Japan's architecture is so unique and beautiful. It's always a pleasure to see how they incorporate their culture into their buildings.

I agree very much, but I think it's also the case in European countries (about the distinct buildings and pedestrianism).

@@kotnapromkeyeah but this is a small town so there's not much need to that. Also, "if it's not broken don't fix it", this seems to work for them. It's better they keep what makes their country charming and unique instead of copying the others

It really is. I love to travel and I’ve been to a lot of beautiful and awesome places. I’ve traveled on planes, trains, automobiles and cruise ships! Lol All worth it. I hope you get to travel and see as much as of the world as possible. Even when I go to a city nearby me, it feels like a new and I find new restaurants to try new food I haven’t tried before.. unless it’s raw and slimy! Lol
Such an ethereal country, Japan is. It sure has its own issues but one can't deny its beauty.

@@nobodynothing00000 well there's a time and place. It can come off lazily pessimistic because it goes without saying nothings perfect.
Japan is really clean even that narrow pathway. The community is quiet. I hear birds chirping. This is one of the best walking tour i've watched.
What attracts me about Japan is not the people in particular, but rather the architecture, the culture of being sacred with nature and a general sense of peace. I feel like all the rules in Japan come from an indirect or subconscious attempt to be more evolved spiritually which in modern times translates to being the perfect citizen.
路地裏の落ち着いた感じいいですねぇ しかし、youtubeと投稿者さんのおかげで、世界中どこに居ても旅行した気分になれるのは嬉しいねぇ いい時代になったもんだ
I like how the video ended with a peaceful beauty of the late sunset on a beach with the rhythmic melody of the ocean.. This scene is exactly how I imagine ending my travels in Japan.
I've been all over Japan, but visiting Kamakura and Yokosuka has been the highlight of my Japan travels. The contrast of a very traditional Japanese town with dozens of temples compared to a military port with American soldiers and businesses catering to them was mind-blowing. And they're just separated by a quick 30 minute train ride. Only in Japan!
I miss Japan! There is a kind of vibe that exists when walking these little streets found only in Japan. I want to call it serenity but that might be too simplistic a description. Thank you Penguin Walk for these videos you produce. They make me feel like I'm the one who is walking these streets.
I love Kamakura. Been here in 2019 (from Russia)! This place is forever in my heart
The Alleyways of Japan is the main reason why i want to go there. so peaceful 🥹 actually it sounded like a lullaby to my ears and make me feel sleepy. i will not regret to walk in this kind of places even if it so long.
Why is everything in Japan so pleasing to look at?
I'm always amazed at how clean the roads are! Such a contrast with the roads in my town!
@remka2000

That’s in good part because 1/ Kamakura is a historical town, very touristy, so they tend to keep it clean 2/ Everyone cleans in front of their houses 3/ Neighborhood associations (not mandatory, but strongly encouraged if you live in a house) do frequent cleanings, often the elderly who also socialize this way 4/ Littering is really frown upon. Kids do beach cleaning sessions at school, etc.

I couldn't help by notice, it's not just the roads. But even the building fronts, the windows, the lamp posts and sign posts... At 04:00 , the two vending machines on the right have ZERO rust and no signs of wear and tear... At 04:37, the tiled front has ZERO chips/cracks, but it's very rare where I am from to see tiled walls that are so pristine! This isn't just clean, this is FAIRYLAND levels of perfect!

Japan is so Majestical. I am always attracted to it's back alleys.
I am from SRI LANKA I love this video KAMAKURA is lovley.
很喜欢日本的环境和人们的文化素养。我看了很多日本的动漫,其中有不少景象跟现实一样,曾经以为那只是人们幻想出来的,没想到现实真的有这么干净整洁的环境。似乎人们也很安静不会大喊大叫的
Amazed by the traffic sense of the people. Not a single vehicle honked even once in the entire video. How nicely they keep parking distance between vehicles on a red light. Japan is truly living years ahead of the world.

Really amazing such a 4K stroll far away in a foreign country! It feels like you're there walking! 🤗

35:40 As soon as the camera pans left we get the first glimpse of the sea; I picture Eren, Armin, and Mikasa seeing the sea for the first time. Eren then points towards the far side of the horizon and asks himself "Everyone on the other side of the sea is bad, RIGHT? And I feel free to destroy all of them by initiating the RUMBLING!" CHILLS 🥶
This is what helps me fall asleep.
I love Japan!
I'll be back in Kobe for Thanksgiving. I want to move back so bad. It's not for everyone, but I love it! The little things I notice. I used to do this all the time, just go off running or walking, where I would just & when I would get to a left or right I would go with my gut feeling knowing I would end u somewhere interesting. I know you're documenting the city, where you made that left from going up in the hills, i would of kept going straight. Lol! Loved the video. To me, Japan is all about the nooks and crannies. Arigato Gozaimasu!
