🚆 4K Hot summer day train ride through Zurich (Cab Ride Switzerland | S14 Hinwil - Affoltern a. A.)
Take a seat in the front row of the S14 service on this beautiful hot summer day! The air conditioning is working fine, it's promising to be a relaxing ride with great views. Our first stop is Wetzikon, where we will spend a few minutes waiting and the video will show you why: During that time period, all trains in the station have connections to eachother. You may change to the S5 in either direction, to the S3 through other parts of the Zurich Highlands and of course vice versa. Wetzikon is the only longer stop on this trip, all other stations are served much quicker and off we go again. We will ride right through the city center of Zurich through the cross-city link and into the "Säuliamt" region, where we will soon reach our terminus Affoltern am Albis. Enjoy the ride!

I really find Zurich the most beautiful region of Switzerland. As a man born in Geneva , I can tell you that nothing compares to Zurich region. Just love it since it went to Zürich with my school 30 years ago . And now , thanks to Railway Emotions , we see that we missed something in Romandie. Geneva became ugly, at the opposite Zurich became really shiny, they kept old buildings and built some awesome new. In Geneva, we just built concrete blocks. Seriousely , thanks to your vids I'm looking to come living near Zurich, really love the landscape in your vids ♥️♥️ Yes , Switzerland is a beautiful country if we bypass the "rostigraben"

The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it? ;-) I personally really like the romandie, it is much more relaxed than Zurich, arguably the most stressed city in all of Switzerland. I do agree we live in a beautiful country, obviously you know Geneva better than I do, but I would absolutely call it beautiful there!

Sounds like Calgary! From beautiful old sandstone buildings to modern concrete and asphalt ugliness! And no train to the airport like most places around the world for centuries now! 65 and still waiting!

I agree with you, as I consider Geneva my second home town. I look forward to coming over soon. I hope it has not changed too much. My memories there are priceless. I must admit my favorite place in the world is Lugano/Ticino. Overlooking the beautiful lake from my hotel, I often said to myself, Heaven must look like this! Ciao!

On a repeat viewing, both Kohlendreieckbrücke and Letzigrabenbrücke appear to me to be viaducts rather than bridges, especially when their length is taken into consideration.
The weinbergtunnel reminds my to Belgium. Where they have also a long tunnel only for Central station. But i don't remember if it was the train tunnel from Antwerp. Or Brussel/Bruxelles

今回も、良い前面展望でした。 ところで、この列車の運行では途中で左側通行から右側通行に変わっています。 他の方の動画も含めて、スイスの鉄道の前面展望動画を何度か視聴しており、その中でスイスのほとんどの路線は左側通行で運行されているのが分かりましたがこの列車では途中で右側通行に変わっています。 ということは、スイスの鉄道は路線や区間により通行方法が違うのでしょうか、また何らかの理由がありその方法が違うのでしょうか。 今回の動画で、このことが気になりました。
Thank you, this particular route always amuses me because of the way it picks through the South side of the core from HB to Altstetten, my question is how that happens in the other direction - all the IC/IR cab rides show the train crossing from the centre to the south by way of a tunnel and not touching either of the DML bridges, does S14 do similarly or does it take the same path we see on this clip in reverse? Come to think of it, does the regular schedule involve any use whatsoever of the DML bridges from West to East? Thanks again for sharing \m/

The bridges are one way only in normal operaton. They can be used in both directions, but I've personally never seen it happen. There are some older S14 cab rides on the channel where you may watch the other direction of travel.

Eine Frage: wieso wird bis Zurich jeweils links gefahren und warum ist es ab Zurich "egal" aka links, rechts links und wieder rechts?

Es ist auf fast allen Strecken ohnehin egal auf welcher Seite gefahren wird. In diesem Fall ist die Gleisbelegung so definiert, dass die S14 in Hedingen rechts kreuzt und in Birmensdorf Vormittags die Züge stadteinwärts das Gleis 1 benutzen, Nachmittags die Züge stadtauswärts. Das hat mit der Lastrichtung des Pendlerverkehrs zu tun.

@@JV1991 Exakt. Birmensdorf ist etwas speziell, da der Bahnhof nur eine Unterführung in der Mitte des Bahnsteigs hat und die Bushaltstelle auf der Seite von Gleis 1 liegt. Um den Pendlern immer den kürzest mögliche Weg zu den Anschlussbussen zu gewähren wurde sich für die Lösung mit Gleiswechsel entschieden.
