@@crabrangoon2493 Sooner or later everything is "modded". There is no "stock-AMG", since each AMG is a modified car. Do you think, a 2.0-AMG is so much different from a normal 2.0? ...... The enginze-size is the same, the rest is turbos and pressure. It's a difference, if you roll on 0,7 bar or 1,8 bar. Give a V8-Mercedes just bigger turbos and it has easily 100 hp more.

I'm new to the channel, kinda binge watching the drag races now working backward. Matt's really fun, but I'd like a camera on the other guys speedometer and more info on what's going on on that side as well, instead of just getting the data on Matt's ride.

@@GertoHeupink Due to the nature of EV's, traction control works far more precise and instant, resulting in less power cut and better overall traction control systems in EV's compared to ICE cars.

What AMG have squeezed from a two litre, four cylinder engine is phenomenal! Four cylinder engines just sound naff with conventional crank though. I much prefer a cross-plain's warble 👌

@@thomashayhurst6547 well, if it was natural aspirated, then maybe, but turbo charged engines don't live that long. I do believe that 4 cylinder, turbo engine that gives 400+ hp will not last long.

Model 3 has a phenomenal grip. 11,8 on wet surface is almost the same as on dry surface. And the breaking...awesome 👌

Being able to instantly adjust the torque with electric motors means EVs can have crazy effective traction control systems. Braking is an interesting one, the AMG should really have won that so I'd guess tyres plus we've seen in previous videos that Mat's side of that runway does hold water more so is less grippy. The Tesla is undoubtedly impressive regardless of that though.

@@mortenkrogh8599 Honestly I'm not a fan of the current obsession the world seems to have with acceleration times. My current and previous cars both have 0-60 times either side of 5s and even that isn't necessary at all. The Plaid drivetrain is impressive of course, but outside of KZread, the long range drivetrain is a better choice almost universally and easily fast enough. At that level, other attributes of the car are far more important.

This in dry conditions would be interesting

My daily is a Model 3P (mid 2019 ) had it after the power boost updates on the dyno and 518bhp with 692 Nm in reality does on optimal conditions 3.18 -100 and my best 1/4 was 11.58 s

I love the minimalistic interior of the model 3 And I love the nice ambient lighting and cool looking interior of the CLA 45 AMG ....They both look good for what they're both going for, it all depends on what your preference is

You'd think they could at least get a camera on the other speedometers, not just Matt's though.

The biggest surprise was the brake test. Hopefully the next M3P will also have carbon-wrapped rotors. The need to maintain power at higher speeds to be competitive. However, very few people will ever race over 100 mph on the highway so in all realistic scenarios the Tesla will come out on top.

I love that power and torque meter in the Merc, its just so cool

I noticed it doesn't have a softlimiter, is that an AMG thing or by the tuner? My slow 180 doesn't rev up higher than 3500rpm :(. I got a cut-out exhaust system on it though, and it sounds lovely - bet yours will sound even more amazing, might be worth doing!

The shit into 7th gear in the fist rolling race, was actually very good. Dual clutch transmitions have one clutch for the even and one for the odd gears, so the shift from any odd to any even gear and vice-versa can be very fast (if the correct gear is pre-selected), if you want to go from even to even or odd to odd the car has to „change“ a gear…

@Alessandro Nesta The CLS is based on the E-Class tho, it is NOT an S-Class. So yes its obviously much better (built quality wise) than the CLA. Ive owned a CLA and i cant reaaaally recommend it. It looks amazing and its pretty fast as of its relatively light weight, however as nice as the Interior looks it is dirt cheap honestly. A lot of crackling plastic noises and the Soundsystem is HORRENDOUS. Looks: 10/10 Built quality: 3/10. Not even close to the level of the E-Class which im currently owning.

Like how matt changes the ambient lighting for the different camera shots 😂

Love that CLA45 AMG 🤩

@@Maltemiata well i never been into Germany before so i can't say anything about the traffic there but yeah like I've said cla is faster at the top end speed as you can see it was catching up tesla and yeah that's mean i agree with you at the lower end speed tesla is faster due to instant torque, no turbo lag and no need to shift up but saying that tesla faster in real life traffic is not 100% absolute because in my country the rolling race in this video is happening in real life traffic here so it's still relevant with carwow rolling race

the 911 will be left behind with a close-ish race between the model S Plaid and the 765. The Plaid does 9.2 1/4's all day long the 765LT is about 2-3 tenths off that from what i've seen. 911 is a low 10 sec car.

Not to make the intros even longer but... would be interesting to see what tires each car is running since this is quite significant, especially in conditions like this. For example in the braking test, the AMG lost purely because of the tires. I would say Pirelli judging by the poor wet performance lol.

Matt another great shootout between to great vehicles. Just goes to show what a difference the instant torque of Tesla Model 3 over the Mercedes AMG CLA 45 S Though the table is turned with the rolling race's the Mercedes crawls back a advantage over the Tesla. Both vehicles acquitted themselves very well.

tuned makes the car react to weather differently traction control is messed with hence why its spinning all fours

Traction control works way better and easier on electric vehicles than petrol cars and especially tuned ones

@@e63s82 Right, the Tesla won the quarter. Plus the merc was tuned. Stock against stock and the Tesla wins. Wet or dry, it doesnt matter.

Dragtimes just raced a $130K Tesla Model S plaid against the $2 Million Rimac Nevera and the Tesla beat the Rimac to 60' and was less than a second slower on the quarter mile but still a very respectable 9.272 @ 152.68 MPH vs the Nevera 8.655 @ 166.66 MPH a little over 1/2 a second. You can't even blink that fast! I love these videos. Cawwow is fun and has a lot of information plus a lot of fun banter!

Does a stage one tune make any warranty void? Just wondered also can sometimes more power be less helpful if that power can’t be put down effectively, I’ve seen a few cars with higher HP from tunes that seem to not grip as well as they did before.

Yes it voids warranty. And more power makes it harder to keep traction

There are many car reviewers on the internet but it's something about mats personality and how he reviews cars that just makes me so exited to watch every single video he put outs.....if matt got fired from carwow I honestly would stop watching carwow🤣

Going off the a45s these cars are going to depreciate a lot very quickly. Couple of years and you will get it almost half price.
