    I'm pretty sure if I tried to make that video I would have failed compared to you. You made it look so easy! Also crazy how close that balancer gets the cells and so quickly too. Thank you for the shout out! Certainly not required but much appreciated.

    Haha, Thanks. C'mon you could do it too :) Yeah It actually got really close in just a few hours. I left it on overnight, mostly because I was ready to go to bed. I've used the 8s, and 4s of these types of balancers. They've always worked great for me.

    Nice work! Can you give us some info in the balancer - that seemed to be the standout module...the rest we know will be good.

    Thanks, Ben! The balancer is one of those generic flying capacitor active balancers. I got it from Chris beenebrothers.com/product/12-16s-flying-capacitors-active-balancer/ These are the same as the Heltec branded ones (I'm pretty sure)

    The only thing I would replace is the PACE BMS with the new JK Inverter BMS - the communication boards are the same, probably the balance connectors are the same too, it would need to solve the BMS mounting with internal BMS wiring and who would want to solve the holes and mounting of a small or larger JK display

    Yeah, I've seen those JKs, pretty nice. Would be awesome if they would work with the existing display. That way it would be a total drop-in replacement. Thanks!

    @@BradCagle Andy from Off-Grid Garage has a 3D printed frame for the smaller JK display and one that nice covers all the original PACE/SEPLOS display holes, plus it has access to the on/off button on the side of the display. All of these 3D printable models are freely shared by Andy. I'm sure you have someone with a 3D printer in your area. But the JK Inverter BMS doesn't need a display, just a Mobile phone with Bluetooth, but I prefer a display too, personally the larger Touchscreen one.

    @@BradCagle It is also possible to find replaceable 1:1 front panels with all the accessories needed for DIY Seplos/Pace/Globel battery boxes, even with JK Inverter BMS with a option of smaller, larger or no display. However, so far I've only seen them for large 280/304Ah DIY boxes. Maybe in future they will be for these smaller boxes too.

    Hey Brad, thanks for another excellent video. What's your take on bus bars, is it important to have that curve in them.?

  • @BradCagle

    @BradCagle

    22 күн бұрын

    Thanks! If I have a choice between solid/straight or somewhat flexy with the curve in it. I would chose the curve . The reason being the cells do expand, and contract, and if they are solid at the terminals it could in theory strain, and/or twist the terminals. Is it a necessity? I dunno, but if you can get the curved one then why not, right?
