Great Reaction Ladies...... "Another 48 Hours" is a Great Watch...... (Some of this might have already been Commented).... This was Eddie's first movie and Nick Nolte was an established actor.... So Eddie had a Salary of $300,000 and Nick's Salary was $3,000,000.... In 1990 for "Another 48 Hours" Nick Nolte was on his was down/out as a actor so the Salarries were basically the flipped/opposite ratio.... Billy Bear was played by Sonny Landham who later plays Billy in the 1989 "Predator" James Remar and David Patrick Kelly were in the movie "The Warriors" a few years before this.... BTW - David Patrick Kelly is Charlie of the Cleaning Crew in the John Wick Franchise..... Annette O'Toole is most known for her role as Martha Kent in TV's "Smallville"

True. There are a lot of great movies out there that have not been reacted to at all or very little. The same people in all of there Patreons are suggesting the same movies over and over again. I have a number of older movies these young reactors would love and they would do good numbers with these movies. Here are three. "Cool Hand Luke". There are a couple reactions out there but that is not enough for such an iconic movie. "Cat Ballou". I have not seen one reaction to this movie. It is such a fun movie. The reactors would have a great time viewing it. And here is a third. "Treasure of the Sierra Madre". It's from the 1950's and it has Humphrey Bogart. Everybody has heard of Bogey. This is an entertaining western and a good introduction to Bogart. If they are familiar with Warner Bros cartoons and the movie Blazing Saddles they will see where certain popular scenes have come from.

23:56 - It's so funny hearing you guys be so surprised by this side of Eddie Murphy, because for us who grew up with him, it's like the opposite for us. We were introduced to the raunchy, hardcore Eddie, for that was his original schtick. It was later on in his career, after he got married with children, that he became tame and started doing voice overs for kids' cartoon movies and stuff, lol. You should check out his early stand up comedy films, "Delirious", and "Raw". Classics!

It was around 1982 that I had just been given the keys to one of the many apartments I lived in over the years in Waikiki. However, what made this apartment truly special was that somehow, I was receiving bootlegged movies through the TV cable connection. My rental manager who showed me the apartment was already aware of the unexplained cable situation, but simply said to me, "Have fun with that". These were all recent movies, and I mean, you name the movie that came out around 1982, and I probably watched it at least 50 times. 48 Hours was one of them.

I think this was Eddie Murphy's first movie role, so he didn't have the pull or star power to completely rewrite whole roles or write whole movies for himself. I think for this he took a dramatic role and made it more comedic and probably got to write alot of his own dialogue but later. in his career roles were written for him and he made his own movies where he could lean into his comedic persona. For example each of the Beverly Hills movies get more silly and more comedic, unfortunately in that case to the franchises detriment in my humble opinion. But without Eddie evolving we wouldn't have got some great but completely silly movies like Trading Places or later things like The Nutty Professor. Trading Places is one of my all time favourite movies, would love a reaction to that if you haven't already.

Achara for the win!!! Recognizing that the score was Horner so early, very nice. If you look at his IMDB, you'll see SO MANY of these action films from the 80's. But, I think all of them were cash gigs because they are literally the same score over and over. Horner was such a thematic writer and also a bit on the spectrum, according to people that knew him, that I'd be this sort of score bored him. He wrote so many epic and legendary scores over his career, but one action score so good, they all put it in their film. HAHA

Before that he was a stand-up king and SNL virtuoso. In this his first movie he became a movie star. But - like with you - his biggest pull with wide audience was his comedic mastery, so that's what Hollywood wanted to build movies with him on. I think "The Golden Child" - while drawing from Thalia's pool heavily - also let him spread his wings a bit into Melpomene's garden. Even if Eddie doesn't show his full range there, it's still a great movie with the amazing Charles Dance and the talented (and gorgeous) Charlotte Lewis - should absolutely be on your to watch list.
