On a perfect spring day Vintage Trains Ltd of Birmingham organised a railtour by the name of the Double Lickey Banker from Solihull-Didcot-Bristol Temple Meads then from there to Bromsgrove where 2 GWR Pannier Tanks No's 7752 and 9600 were attached to the rear of the train and with 46201 as 6201 providing power from the front an LMS Princess 8P class "Princess Elizabeth" then attacked the famous Lickey Bank running as 1Z65 and is captured here at Pikes Pool Lane in full splendour shattering the peace and tranquility of the countryside for near on 10 minutes. About 150 photographers gathered at this spot and hundreds more along the route for this truly wonderful spectacle so my sincere thanks go out to the train crew of all 3 locomotives for such a slendid performance and also to all involved in making this possible.The bankers were detached further en route and the train completed it's round trip at Dorridge with 46201 solely in charge.
