Will see where it goes... been thinking about BT6, I hear it is quite expensive...
I'm shocked to see how well this truck has lasted over that much time.

Quite amazing yes. It spent its whole life in a desert area with little rust
You are one lucky man. Can’t wait to see what you do to it.

Hey Div. That's a cool old truck. My 1940 Buick has the same rear shocks. They are some kind of hydraulic. I haven't done anything with mine yet. I will be working on mine this winter. Your truck will be a fun build. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Man I love that truck, I really hope you leave it on the stock chassis because it's a workhorse icon of days gone by, but at least your saving it from certain doom, sweet find, chock one up for your wife,,,

What a beauty ! Your truck is definitely a 46 or 47 . I don't believe any non-military trucks were produced during the WW2 years , and the Chevy truck body style changed in 48. I would guess your truck is what we call in the states a 2 ton. The inline 6 is probably a 216 Babbitt rod engine. If you don't know what that is I would have you look it up for a better explanation than I can provide. I had a 49 Chevy 1/2 ton when I was a kid. It had a 216 and was not worth overhauling so I dropped in a 235 inline 6 with actual rod bearings from a 62 truck. What a great score you made !!!!!!! And Dude , your wife is on board with it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info! According to the little info I could find on Google thus far, this body style was produced 41 - 47 and the next body style 47 - 55. So in 1947 you got both designs! I thought it safer to call it a 46 to avoid confusion. When I first Googled 1947 Chevy, the pictures all looked different to what I have. I find it quite amazing that a RHD version was built back then. Ja, I was astounded when the wife showed me the ad! At other times she moans that I collect too much junk...😆
Hay man how's it going , me again from Missouri. I saw her in an other vido and now I find out that she is a twin to mine. So what you have is an early 1947, 1 1/2 ton . Normal production was resumed 1946 but was a new body in '47 so the left over parts were used up in early '47. So she is one of the very last production truck to have-- crank out windshield, split hood and the external headlights. You have a good find there and just think with air bags, power steering and new drivetrain you could handle that road of yours. well I will get off my soap box and let you get back to work , that's what I'm late for. Thank god I am the boss ..Have a great day.
