To be fair. Black Templars are basically word bearers that weren’t labeled heretics because they worshipped the emperor as a god after it was cool 🤷🏼‍♂️

See, I like the Iron Warriors, because they’re upfront about what they are. It’s quickly becoming a fact that I’m loving the word bearers as my favorite traitor legion for the simple fact they’re so cartoonishly evil, and evil looks god tier in red.

Playing the "bad guy" or getting into the "bad guy" is really fun if you do it in a way that you think out of their perspective. John Long Silver said it best in Muppets on treasure Island. - It's how you look at buccaneers that makes them bad or good And I see us as members of a noble brotherhood!

You putting the stubbed shoulder pad on the wrong side is completely fine. It makes them unique from each other

I love how you prefer Mk4 and Tartoros. Which is the opposite of me. I love Mk3 and Cataphractii I just love the Medieval aspect of them. Which is why I love the Grey Knights for this reason

My favourite videos are always the ones where you get to just gush about your little dudes! Great video, man - your passion is infectious.

Might do some 30k bat reps at some point! No interest in playing these guys in 40k, though. They're not made for that.

Your World Bears turned out great by the way I chose Iron Warriors because I love Mk3 and they're Shrapnel weapons having a Bolter that shoots shotgun rounds is just cool and they're Primarch was a badass

It would be great to get another video like this just showing off your Grey Knights. I know you've done something similar in the past when you did your list building video, but a pure army showcase would be super cool!

Your Praetor is top tier

This is great inspiration for me! I'm just getting a small Word Bearers force together having collected Iron Warriors for a long time. It was actually the new Possessed Marines kit that made me take the leap, I wanted to paint them, but want to stick to 30K.

Every time I see one of your conversions it inspires me to go further with my own. I'm thinking some sort of Shield Captain with lightning claws and Ventari jumpack next..

Love this army. My army is built as imperial heralds . So gray and gold with purity seals hanging off their armor. Amd i had a small portion of the legion corrupted ...argal tal amd galvorbak.

Excellent looking army with lovely conversions. Yeah sadly the Word Bearers are tough one to list build as so many of their good and flavour options are Elites choices. You never have the room for dreads, apothecaries, Ashen Circle, Mhara Gals and Gal Vorbak.

Great showcase, can see the passion in that force . Any chance you could do a tutorial on them as you must be an expert at word bearers now.

That's a pretty significant force, you should be proud. If you like Dreadnoughts I'd really suggest the tried and true Leviathan Dreadnought! He even has a snazzy new plastic kit! I can only imagine all the dirty looks from the grey Knights now that they have to share their shelves with dirty traitors. Or "shittiest little dumb assholes" as you put it. Because that's pretty much spot on for the Word Bearers. And especially Erebus. Because fuck Erebus.

@@onelastblade3913 it is really annoying that we can’t run Terminators. One of my students runs his Blood angles Terminators as Custodes Talons of the Emperor and then uses the tactical ploys, the strategic ploys from the space marine rules. It’s a band aid fix but terminators are too cool not to use.

Came across this vid as I'm painting my own 30k Word Bearers! Great stuff man, good looking army, and fun and enganging commentary. Out of curiosity, what's your red recipe?

I spent the end of 2022 putting together my Word Bearers army (I went a bit far if I'm honest, I think I have a bit over 6k points lol). Only now getting around to painting them and have yet to play a game of Heresy at all. Having a real ballache of a time finding any knowledgeable HH2.0 gamers that can help me actually build a proper WB army list so if you've any advice about Rites of War, number of scoring units and general gameplan etc. that would be great.

I hadn't played with them in at least a year, and I had no real desire to continue painting them. So I was kind of done with them, I suppose. They were only taking up space on my shelf.

Atmies looks good my guy and dig the good and evil vibe from owning grey knight and word bearers. I'm curious to know which armies you owns for both 30k 40k

I can't say I'm personally a fan of the Horus Heresy models (the novels I love) but this was a great explanation of how they work. Also, I've been meaning to ask, do you have a Discord or is that a patreon gated thing? Thanks!

Any plans to run a Heresy event at your Seattle venue? Also, if you started a mailing list for the club I know I'd sign up for it, might help people who are close but outside Seattle keep up with the goings-on at Waystone. Thanks!

My fav army is a full army of contemptors people really hate me for it but what can ya do...play what u like.

God heresy 2.0 is great however you should stick thunderhammers on every single thing that can take them 😂

So nemesis bolters have the sniper keyword meaning you can pick what takes the wounds regardless

The Ashen Circle looks to be a darker shade of red to the rest of the dudes. If I may ask, how did you paint the ashen circle? I’m trying to get a deep dark red almost purple red for my word bearers.

The Ashen Circle were very different: I based them with Leadbelcher, and then used Goregrunta Contrast all over them.

@@onelastblade3913 Nope, would never have guessed that! WOW! Gonna have to try this. I’ve come up with a scheme that uses Vallejo Premium Metallic Black all over and then airbrush Flesh Tearers Red over it. It gives me that purple/red that resembles the classic Dark Apostle artwork. But washing them ruins the finish. Might have to do a slow recess shade. Gonna see if I can do your Gore Grunta Fur concept on vehicles too.

they look great, but not going to lie you’re in the wrong game system to dislike 3d printing, heresy is very unsupported and too expensive, especially if you fancied buying jump packs or extra weapons and stuff- there you’d have to buy a full kit and then not use half of it
