45 RPM: The Twilighters - Please Come Home

Музыка

Please Come Home
written by Starr and Watts
performed by The Twilighters
reported to have been recorded circa 1953
released circa 1960 as Super Music Co. 1003
From the "joys of record collecting" file comes one of the genre's great mystery records. This Super Music Co, escape is an unknown version of the Five Emeralds' 1954 S-R-C debut, "I'll Beg." It IS the same song (that is not a mystery), but, is it the same group, as well? In fact, it IS The Five Emeralds' 1953 demo for S-R-C, discovered and released by The Sparrow Quartet's Sam Woods. Which leaves us with who might "Starr" and "Watts" be? Since the internet doesn't have much to say on the topic of this record, what do you say? Again, that is what the comments are for.

Thanks for confirming. I remember hearing that story, probably from the late Sal Mondrone, many years ago.
