This is the one that I remember the most. I was watching it as it aired. I believe Shaw broke the world record time which is why it was such a big deal as it was the shortest held record in history! It was such a shame to see his sheer anguish. Alas, such is the nature of competition.

They just mailed out the phonebook that covered my little town and the four surrounding it...it used to be huge, but everyone has cellphones instead of landlines these days...it was basically a pamphlet!

Mateusz has always been one of my favs, he always seems to have a great attitude and is smaller than the other guys but lifts just as heavy. But watching him do those stones with a torn bicep was incredible and made me respect him on a whole other level

I have gotta say Kieliszkowski has had some of my most open mouth moments! His overhead medley in the WSM 2019 final 🤯🔥 the Cyr record at The Arnold, the stone to shoulder (as in your countdown) was nuts, the Viper pressing of the log :.. but equally his overall abilities with vehicle pulls etc. Mikhail’s deadlifts - inspirational..... Truly the moment that I always remember and smile though has to be the Brian / Thor keg toss - even if Brian hadn’t said what he said, Thor’s throwing was phenomenal. Great countdown Loz 🤘🏻

It’s difficult to for those who never saw him compete back then to understand just how mainstream famous Geoff Capes was in the early 1980s, probably much more so than Eddie is these days - absolutely everyone knew who Capes was. To watch him compete with JPS was the stuff of legend!!
