Hi all! Im back with the second of a series of paintings dedicated to the new This Little Piggy color Waterfall. I am in love with it, and it looks especially amazing when paired with gold, indigo, and quinacridone nickel azo gold. Many thanks to Shelee and the FAC team for the special color/name. So very grateful. This time went much easier than the first go round and I’m super happy with the final results. The next one will be deconstructed, and I have a planned deconstructed landscape technique planned for the last one in the series. Let me know what you think of this one, and thanks for watching!! Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate:
PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe-mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); JoSonja Gloss Varnish 3:2 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.
Brands/Colors mixed:
This Little Piggy (TLP) pigment in Waterfall, Golden Fluid Acrylics in Iridescent Bright Gold, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics in Indigo.
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics-- I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "Jo-Wa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")
All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Color:
Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Lamp Black. 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.

Did anyone else see the dog at the end? Kind of a Lab. In the center of the painting...muzzle, eye, ear pointed to the right. A great painting for someone who wants a companion protector. I know, I know, but suddenly it was just there! Now I can't unsee him/her. Cool though because I love dogs!

Your husband's take on it is right on. The dark areas aren't so demanding that they distract from the more balanced tones. They introduce the dark veining and bri g me along to see the other aspects. You always do such a good job. I never cut your videos short. I know by now to wait for the finish. It's awesome! As usual.

The contrast of the darks make the lights even lighter in comparison. Karen, I was wondering if you could advise me on floater frames. I have looked at videos but I am still confused. I do know that I need to go by the depth of the canvas. But if my canvas measures 5 X 7 would I order a 5 x 7 frame? Thank you!
