430 Yard Deer Shot - 6.5 Creedmoor 130gr Sierra Game Changer

My first long range deer with the Savage 110 Tactical 6.5CM. I'm very happy to have this setup come together to harvest a deer. I've done multiple videos with this rifle and bullet combo; check out the playlist. Hopefully we'll bag another deer with it soon.

    I like them for their accuracy mostly. The B.C isn't quite as high as other 6.5s out there. But this Savage really likes to group them.

    I got a max load of 2901 FPS of the 140 grain Game Changer with Superformance out of my 6.5 Creedmoor and it started to wear out my primer pockets. I’ve got another load 45.9 grains Superformance that gets me 2850 FPS and is about .3 MOA out of my Tikka T3x. I can’t wait to try the 140 grain tipped Game King on deer. I hunt big corn fields just like your video and I can shoot waaaaaaay out there.

    Where did you hit her and how did the bullet perform? I’m guessing they are reloads with a Sierra bullet. What powder are you using? Just got my first 6.5 CM and getting setup to reload for it. Thinking I may start with H414 with some Hornady 120 gr bullets.

    Shoulder shot. I don’t know what kind of damage it caused on the exit side. I took this deer to the processor. They’re supposed to send me pics of the deer skinned one off. The lungs were nearly gone. I’m running Reloader 16

    @@ChuckinTV Thanks, kind of looked like a shoulder shot from her stumbling run...I looked for that powder but they didn’t have any. I got a pound of Hybrid 100v instead but that looks better for the 140gr bullets which I don’t have... Oh well, it will work in the 300wsm so I’ll try it with that. • @ChuckinTV

    @ChuckinTV

    I would say that it acts just like a soft point. The expansion is pretty controlled for being a ballistic tip. We go 4 deer with this set up this year and none of them went to far after being hit.
