Hi Harry, Interesting to see a dimple lock in a Disc padlock. We see very similar locks occasionally on imported fireproof home safes, and they always rake open easily, probably due to manufacturing tolerances, and shallow pin depths. They also impression quite easily. The saw tooth rake was made from a wiper blade insert. Regards, Brian.

Thanks. I actually tried foil impressioning this one with no luck, but I will revisit it later. I have very little experience with impressioning, so it may just be that I need to develop the skill further.

I thought dimple locks were supposed to be secure?

That's a common misconception. Not so. That said, picking dimple locks is a less common skill that picking standard pin tumbler locks.

Holy F**K. This Godrej lock is that easy to pick! In India there are local lock manufacturers such as in Aligrad who make cheap locks of all types. A made in India, generic beefy 8 lever disc lock costs about half the price than this PoC Godrej dimple lock and could be much more harder to pick. A common man finds this fancy Godrej lock with a weird mechanism and may think high of the brand. But the reality says otherwise. Probably thieves there were not that bright but this is a substantial security compromise for a fancy brand indeed.

0:28 - 0:32 Shutter taped open.... Why didn't you remove the tape from the shutter after lockpicking as said. Make a video in 2021 showing the removal of the tape till then i unsubscribe you.

Hi, it is not so much easy to open a mechanical lock , you can try it at home , may be he did something fissy to make the video to get popular, all mechanical locks are computeris combination 😀, so take a chill pill

I suggest you to increase the velocity of the video to 1.25 through the settings (gear icon) of youtube, i think this would be quite good for you. On the contrary, i really like his calm and clear speaking because i can easily understand the tecnical explanations but mainly because i watch these videos also to improve my scholastic (and not american) english.
