Launched in 1959 the Motor Yacht FORTUNA II was designed by Fredrick R Parker and built by the highly regarded Nunn Brothers yard on the river Deben. Commissioned by and built for her original owner she was classed Lloyds ✠100 A1 when launched. Fortuna II has been Part 1 UK ship registered from new and this has been continued by her present owner.
Found by her current owners languishing in the Exeter canal basin she was brought ashore at the Baltic Wharf yard in 2013 and four-and-a-half-year long restoration project commenced. With the boat stripped back to a bare hull inside and out, every part of the boat was either refurbished or replaced. The attention to detail in every aspect of the rebuild is exceptional, from the custom-made, sculpted oak seating in the pilothouse to the intricate wiring, concealed within copper piping with custom-made oak switch mountings. While great care has been taken to maintain the appearance of the traditional motor yacht, the integration of modern systems has created a robust motor yacht that is capable of being self-sufficient for extended periods. Over 250 photos of this magnificent motor yacht and a 2023 insurance survey are available upon request.
Reluctantly offered for sale, she is still in regular use cruising the coast and islands of Scotland's West Coast, FORTUNA II will be available for viewing by appointment in the Argyll area.

OWNER’S COMMENTS:
We fell in love with Fortuna II when we first saw her moored in Exeter canal basin, although it was clear that much work was needed to bring her back to life. We enjoyed working with Charlie Hussey at Baltic wharf and the whole process of restoring Fortuna II to a very high standard. Fortuna II featured in Classic Boat Magazine in October 2018 and in spring 2019 when she was awarded Runner Up in the Classic Boat Awards for restoration of the year of a motor vessel over 40ft.
Fortuna II has enabled us to cruise the West of Scotland and the Hebrides in comfort and style each summer for the last six years. She has taken us to many remote anchorages and the pilot house has allowed us to view the scenery and wildlife at close quarters in comfort. She has ample storage space for fuel, water and supplies to enable extended cruising. She is safe and seaworthy on passage and comfortable at anchor even in foul weather. We feel that she would be ideal for another couple or family. Fortuna II is a real head turner where ever we go and is great in classic regattas. Alternatively, she would make a wonderful mothership to classic yacht racing with ample room for entertaining.
We have maintained her meticulously and stored ashore under cover each winter. Having enjoyed Fortuna II for the last eleven years, we feel the time has come for us to move on to new adventures.
