The extra work on fairing and sanding really paid off-that finish looks super smooth!

It has its little spots where it's not perfect, but by and large those spots are few. I'm hoping the lessons learned on the bottom will make the sides and topside go much smoother. (but you should see it sanded to 320 grit. She's oh so smooth). In due time...

I appreciate that. It's folks like you working with Lou and the videos that he put out that were all part of what inspired me to even try to do this. I have certainly paid TotalBoat's light bill, or a portion of it, with the TotalFair I have used along the way, and what will be required going forward. I am not too proud to offer to be a part of your team going forward if you want to work together. It's free to ask I guess. Thanks for providing good products!

Primer looks great. Glad it didn’t have the orange peel that the high build primer produces. Great work!

It has some orange peel, but due to it being so much thinner, it's a whole lot better. But, even the finish primer seems to sand fairly easy with the 220. Now it remains to be seen what happens when when go after the guide coat with 320. Should know before too long if the weather cooperates.

I was so surprised at how long it took to add and fair those strakes on my boat. It is a tedious process. Yours look great!

It doesn't seem like much, but 1 day to glass them, 1 day to bed them, half a day to fair, half a day to sand, fair, sand, fair, sand, fair again, sand again. These little things are taking me forever. But, that's all part of the process. Neighbor asked me how much more I had left. I asked him before what? Before I flip it back over? Before I pour the floor? Before I install the deck? Before I build a console? Only response I know it's closer to being done now than it was yesterday.

In some aspects, it’s not fair to represent that this is what it would take anyone to attempt this process of glassing, fairing, and painting a hull. I was just telling a friend that if I had to do it again, I bet I could get it done in about a month, as opposed to the time it has taken me. It’s a steep learning curve, but I have learned a lot. And in the end, I think the finish will be something I can be proud of doing. Appreciate you checking it out and commenting.
